Good point is location, but Bodhgaya is small so that is minor. Bathrooms are small and dirty and the water drains from the floor very slowly after a shower. The 24 hour hot water is not actually on all the time. The people were always trying to get more money from us, through various schemes. Would not stay here again... More

While the location was advantagous, nothing was favourable: No A/C No running hot water, supplied in bucket(sometimes only luke warm) No restuarant No phone or intercom in room Room and bathroom was of average cleanliness(hotel staff not aware of western commode requirement) The neigbouring hotel where we used to have our food was of much superior quality with marginally less... We stayed in this hotel during the Kalachakara , the location of the hotel is near to the Mahabodhi Temple and the Kalachakra venue. In the first day, when I pull out the drawer, to my horror, there was a huge rat inside..........then during dinner time, my friend's handbag was stolen in the restaurant...

We stayed at hotel embassy with a group of 10 people during the Kalachkra (a buddhist event). We payed 4800 Rs/night (~70€!) for a double room (some costumers paid up to 7000 Rs), which is clearly overpriced. Other hotels were also overpriced but not that much, and offered much better service. Most of the time we had no hot water;... More

We stayed in this place when we realised that we couldn't stay in a monastery due to our train leaving at 3am (they lock the gate overnight in the monasteries). The rooms were ok, largeish and clean however the hotel seemed to be a little run down, in the midst of renovations. However it was near the start of a... More

Bodhgaya was a delightful stay during the 9-weeks we spent traveling India. The Hotel Embassy was RS800 per night, which ended up feeling like a rip-off. The staff were really very nice and pleasant, but that turned out to be the only real positive of our stay there. The sheets were dirty, the toilet leaked, the walls were disgustingly dirty,... More

I stayed there for two nights at a rate of 900 rps / night. The hotel is a bit run-down and not 100% clean, still it is ok for a short stay. Although I believe that it is possible to get the same room quality for a much better price in any of the nearby guesthouses.

We stayed for four nights at a cost of Rs2640 per night (A$80). This is an outrageous price but at the height of the pilgrimage season, I'm guessing that every hotel in Bodhgaya is price-gouging to the same degree. It was also just before the Kargyu Monlam prayer festival started. The rooms are tiny and sparsely (barely) furnished. They do... More
