This hotel is not too far from Mahabodhi temple and can get simple food after 5 mins walk. Staff are courteous and tried their level best to comply with our request. They suppied us with heater and the rooms are of basic. The television is new but no wi fi in the rooms. You can use it at the lobby.... More

The food at the restaurant was sublime and freshly prepared. We were doted on jand and foot by the extremely pleasant and humble waiters. The... More

Just a 1 night stay here. Central location opposite the Japanese monastery. Room was lacking a little in cleanliness with a few cockroaches spotted. Air conditioner a little noisy but otherwise no issues. I would warn against eating in the restaurant: service is some of the slowest I have seen anywhere in the world: dinner took 90 minutes to arrive,... More

I stayed one week in Hotel Tokyo Vihar with my family and it was a wonderful stay with the friendly staff, tasty food and comfortable rooms. This was my fourth visit to Bodhgaya and out of all hotels I stayed, this was excellent quality. Was able to have a nice evening walk to the main temple every day since the... More

This was my second trip to Bodhgaya and had decided to book a 4-nights' stay at the Hotel Tokyo Vihar in January based on recommendations from the other Tripadvisor users. On the whole, I would say that it was no better or no worse than the other hotel which I had stayed in a couple of months ago (please see... More

Was here Dec 2012 for the Kagyu Monlan Aspiration prayers, being here during pilgrimage week was a perfect location to be, close enough to go by walking or take the bicycle rickshaw ( you help in giving the locals much needed revenue) . Breakfast buffet daily, the ala carte menu has ample selection, we enjoyed the chicken crispy, lassi yoghurt... More

It was expensive during the pilgrimage season but clean, simple room and relatively quiet. Nice location in easy walking distance to the temples and sights. Cannot comment on the food. I'd stay again, despite relative sticker shock given what a place like this would cost in other parts of India.
