As some of stated, the chalets are a little old and tired. They need new furnishings or something to help modernize the inside but basically I was there only long enough to sleep anyway, so overall it was a comfortable base while there to visit the canyon, the pot holes and the surrounding area. I would stay here again.

Went there for one night last december, accomodation ok but very cold welcome and unfortunately we forgot 2 jackets in our room. They found the jackets, since this time they are supposed to send it back (we are agree to pay the cost)...few emails always saying, we will take care of this soon but never nothing happened...never seen somthing like... I love blyde. Calm and relaxed chalets are recently upgraded and is truely top notch. The maintenance guy Thys is always willing to help with extra braais of even fite wood. We also camped at blyde in the past. Ablutions is renovated and very clean. Shop is expensive. Take your own veg and fruit and booze Can recommend!

We camped at the resort in January. The camp sites are average, but a little too on top of each other. The ablution blocks were very good and clean. Do not feed the monkeys... We enjoyed the tufa waterfall hike, but I suggest only going if the weather will definitely be clear; mist covers many views when it's overcast.. The... More

We stayed in a 3 star chalet which was OK, but not quite what we hoped for. There is no lounge area in the 3 star chalets, it has two bedrooms, bathroom and a kitchen with a 4 seater table. The TV is located in the main bedroom. The outside space around the braai area is great with a table... More

This resort is well situated if you are planning to stop over after, or before, visiting the Blyde River canyon. The chalets are good, the one i stayed in, had a fridge, small kitchen, microwave and twin beds with a lovely view of the Three Rondavels. It was standard, no luxury, but well appointed and food in the restaurant was... More

I do not understand the other users' reviews that describe this accommodation as basic, although I did stay in a 4 star and not a 3 star unit to be fair. The unit was spotless, there were braai facilities, a well equipped kitchen, nicely furnished bedroom and living room, a bathroom with a powerful shower and separate bath, and the... More

We stayed in guest house no. 1 - the 8 sleeper. For the price it was a bit mediocre. It's a renovated old staff house and it feels like that. But the resort was well maintained, the location is amazing and the staff were generally friendly and helpful.

Stayed for three night with our kids aged 9, 12 and 14. Really fantastic hikes, a bit short for our taste though. We took 3 hours for the longest - Link - one. Gorgeous views. Nice (very short: 1 hour) horse back riding. Ate the first night at the restaurant which is OK: relatively simple buffet (no a la carte);... More

Arrived to find something we didn't really expect - for anyone british it was a bit like a slightly up market style center parcs. Best thing about it was the view if you walked up to the high viewpoint over the canyon. From here you could watch the sun rise and it was spectacular.. good wildlife spotting in the grounds... More
