This is the perfect place to stay if you want the explore the Area. It's beautiful, quiet and allow very easy access to the area. Very friendly host. We stayed in the Honeymoon cabin, the pictures do not do the lovely atmosphere of the interior justice.

We really enjoyed Zur Alten Mine - very neat, tidy and cosy and a very peaceful getaway. Outdoor braai area very private. Indoor fireplace creates a beautiful atmosphere on chilly nights to sit and drink cocoa and marshmallows. Will definitely be back.

I travelled alone and could not ask for a better place with more solitude, peace and a sense of tranquillity. The accommodation was clean, neat, tidy, and provided everything I could possibly need. The cabin I stayed in had a beautiful log cabin feel and it was wonderfully warm and comfortable. The view was astounding. I sat on the porch... More

Stayed at one of the log cabins at Zur Alten Mine for two nights in May. The cabin was absolutely lovely with most needs and comforts taken care of. The shower was fantastic (very important after a week in the Kruger! haha) and the owners were very accommodating and helpful. Beautiful surroundings and close to Graskop town. My only complaint... The grounds are beautiful and the small walking trail is exquisite. A nice peaceful place to stay. It is a good location in being close enough to the many attractions but still feel away from it all. The only thing missing is a microwave in the family cottage.

We stayed at Zur Alten Mine for 3 nights. What a charming and peaceful place, yet so central to all the sightseeing places in Graskop. The hosts are extremely friendly and provide the most delicious breakfast! We would definitely recommend Zur Alten Mine!

My family and I (all 10 of us) were pleasantly surprised by the quaint individual 'homes' that we stayed in, at such a reasonable price. It's surrounded by stunning scenery and the immaculate attention to detail was great! The hosts and staff are friendly and always willing to help! Loved our stay there and will definitly be back!

It's a bit of a job to find the place but nothing insurmountable. I was actually amazed that the little gravel driveway actually showed up as a road on my Canadian Garmin GPS. We drove in from MQP airport and the drive was fine and quite scenic when the clouds cooperated. The host is a German guy who gets a... More

We spent 2 nights in Zur Alten. It was the perfect place to visit the area. Our cottage was so well equipped with the kitchen, the fireplace and the wonderful terrace with a view on the lake. Johan welcomed us and adviced us on the main highlights in the area. He gave us a map with restaurant recommendations. Everything was... More

Zur Alten Mine has lovely, quiet grounds and a small hike through the woods and along a creek. It's in very good proximity to Graskop and the Panorama Route. The owners were very nice and it's a very comfortable place to stay. I would make only two minor suggestions to make it an excellent review- 1. Have a top sheet... More
