We recently stayed at Zur Alten Mine in Graskop. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Personal touches have added a certain ambiance that cannot be easily found. Walli & Rainer went out of their way to attend to our every need. Our cottage was very comfortable and clean with amazing views. The fireplace was awesome to relax around at night with... More

We spent a few delightful nights here based on the positive reviews of others on TripAdvisor. We spent a few nights in the larger honeymoon chalet and a night in one of the smaller log cabins. Both have all you need for a self-contained holiday: everything in the kitchen, great bathrooms and plenty of space. And braaing facilities. Quiet and... More

Stayed here in January 2014. It is not luxurious but is excellent value for money. Very knowledgeable hosts and a good breakfast. The mine shaft still exists together with graves of miners. It is in a good area for site seeing and exploring. I would recommend it as a good place to stay and the proprietor can give details of... More

From the views, the grand leafy entrance and the hospitality...this is perfect. There is space between the self contained chalets, a beautiful pond and a great (better than advertised) breakfast. Most of all listen to Rainer when he recommends restaurants and places to visit. He knows the routes, and when the sunlight on the magnificent view points is the best... More

From the moment we arrived at Zur Alten Mine we were treated really well. Rainer made it clear that he was always available if we needed something and all the recommendations he made (restaurants and sights) were all fantastic - not just a recommendation of his friends as you often find when you travel. They truly do want you to... More

Highly recommended for a quiet weekend getaway. Close to great river fishing for trout. The avid bird watcher will not be disappointed by the bird life at Zur Alten Mine Guest farm and it's close to God's window & Kruger. Enjoy!

For us as a family of five this place was such a retreat for us, it was a home away from home. Great location and natural setting made the experience so relaxing for us all. You will love Rainer and Wilie, nothing is too much for them to see that we were comfortable. Definitely gets our recommendation for those travelling... More

Hosts Rainer and his wife Walli, along w/ the family dogs Sparky, Speedy and Susie, will make your stay extra special. As a family we had the pleasure of spending a week at Zur Alten Mine in early January 2014. It was a wonderful experience in a most beautiful and tranquil setting, very conveniently located if you want to explore the surroundings. Our hosts Rainer and Walli were most warm and generous and very attentive to one's needs. The rustic cabins... More

I have stayed in many self catering resorts in South Africa and this was definately one of the best. Great attention to detail in the furnishings, all the creature comforts provided and even some extras. the biscuits (which were topped up every day) were delicious. Rainer and Walli were friendly and welcoming. Even though our stay started with an accident... More
