My family and I had an awesome stay! The cottage was clean and neat and we felt right at home. We were not expecting all the little extras like coffee, tea and sugar sachets as well as soap, bath towels, kitchen cloths, wood, fire lighters and matches. We will definitely be visiting Zur Alten Mine again!

I have been visiting this property for the past 10 years. The service offered by the hosts is exceptional, you are always made to feel most welcome. The property is well positioned enabling you to visit all the local attractions and provides easy access to 4 of the Kruger Park gates. I very much look forward to my next visit.

We had an exellent stay. The farmlike atmosphere was perfect, my little girl loved the dogs and animals. The cottage was well equiped and very cozy. The hosts welcomed us in a wonderful manner and supplied us with a lot of info regarding the area. Will definately go back in the future and recommend frieds and family to stay there.

It was the worst of all our check in experience of our whole life. We drove to the reception and were welcomed by 2 large dogs (we are petrified of dogs and did not dare to open our car doors). When we let Mr. Rainer know that we are not comfortable with the dogs sniffing around us, pat came his... More

Thank you very much for your review. We woun´t coment on your review; we just want o clearify a few things: - if you book on a farm in South Africa, there is a 99% chance that there will be dogs on the property! - I never tell our customers to NOT use the Alarm in case of an emergency.... More

Stayed with Zur Alten Mine again this spring and enjoyed it as much as the last visit. Had a group of 5 people this time and we stayed in the family cabin. Bathroom looked like it had recently been redone and was amazing. We enjoyed the fire both nights and stayed nice and cozy. There was even a little fenced... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Zur Alten Mine. Our hosts were wonderful, providing us with excellent information and always providing for our needs. For example, one day we spent the entire day our in Kruger (a 2 hour drive). They provided us with a box breakfast that was excellent. All breakfasts were fresh and delicious. The cabin we rented... This was my second stay here and it was as delightful as the first one. This place is a hidden gem, a little bit off the road, and as soon as you enter you can feel the real world slipping away. The houses are far enough apart from each other, so you feel as if you are the only one... More

Stayed at Zur Alten Mine for 3 nights with my wife. Rainer and Walli gave us a warm welcome, the accommodation was ready even though we arrived early. It was clean and well stocked with essentials, more than enough firewood was provided to keep the place warm. Coming back to the place from a long day was just as great... More

We stayed in the self-catering honeymoon chalet for 3 nights and had a fantastic time. The fireplace, views and lake added to the ambience and we enjoyed the little surprises like the welcome champagne. All required amenities were available, the room was very clean and the updated bathroom (very modern!) was appreciated. The location is close to the major attractions.... More
