For a relaxing getaway with the most beautiful views. The food ia the best I ever had and we were spoiled rotten. The rooms and artwork are magnificent. So close to all the hotspots in the lowveld. It was the most relaxing experience I ever had. Manie is so accomodating and a wonderful host.Really a unique experience

The first weekend of December 2014 we spent at Flycatcher Castle, for a family wedding. Manie Connoway and his team were unbelievable in every sense of the word! They waited on us all hand and foot! Their friendliness and true human spirit is most unusual in my years of experience in hospitality. They went above and beyond. I can understand... More

We stayed in the Flycatcher Castle for one night in August 2014 and loved it! The owner Marnie (chef, cook, architect, musician, artist, sculptur and collector) is very charming and interesting person. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Marnie to hear about the hotel's history and even got a guided tour through the castle. The amount of work - and... More

It was my first time in this part of South Africa, and I couldn't have wished for a nicer place to stay!! We were welcomed by Marnie and the cutest dogs, a nice glass of fortified wine and a pleasant chat, just what we needed after a day of shopping and a drive from Nelspruit. The castle is solid and... What an incredible place to stay. We were welcomed with a fortified wine and then shown to our rooms. All the rooms were very spacious and luxurious. They included an magnificent bath in each. So decadent. The beds were huge and extremely comfortable. The food was to die for. A delicious 4 course meal. The chocolate mousse with a twist... More

The First night we arrived, we thought the castle is the perfect place for a horror story to unfold. The realism and detail of the castle had us convinced it is a 17th century castle. The experience is one of a kind, Manie was the perfect host. If there was any request out of the ordinary he would do his... More

The Castle is quirky and fascinating and Manie has spared no expense in furnishing it with antique furniture, some imported from the UK, and I did feel as though we were staying in a Stately Home in England. The art was amazing and the food was exquisite. Manie was the perfect host, charming, accommodating and interesting. It is probably the... More

If you haven't stayed at Flycatcher Castle yet, there is definitely something missing in your life. This is an experience that cannot be missed! To call it merely 5 star accommodation would be a sin. This experience is relaxation, entertainment and inspiration all rolled into a magnificent work of living art. I cannot fathom wanting to stay anywhere else in... More

This is a difficult place to review. Because whilst we had a fantastic stay and really enjoyed being in such an artistic space, it's important to say that it will not be to everybody's taste. If you are looking for an amazing experience, something a bit different to the mundane run-of-the-mill hotels and particularly if you enjoy sculpture, then I... More

The first question is, why stay in Graskop? The answer is that you are only a few minutes away from God's Window. From White River, you are 45 minutes away. All the other sights are closer to Graskop as well. But then the second question is, where would you stay in Graskop? An excellent answer is the Flycatcher Castle, if... More
