Lovely room - we had a bush chalet, which was suprisingly beautiful - indoor and outdoor shower, private sitting area. Food not that good, but OK considering you are in the park. Odd system of parking your car and taking a buggy about 100m to get to the resort - more

We were a party of 10, using 5 rooms, one of which was a family room. This commentary is a consensus view of the whole party. We found the bedrooms to be great, especially the bush showers. Etosha had clearly had a great deal of rain, so the bush was thick and the game was plentiful in the area. The... more

We found Namutoni a little odd. The resort is organised to keep cars out, which makes it a bit of a walk from the rooms to the fort with the restaurant (past the very nice pool). The bush chalets are very impressive, with double showers in a sunken bath, double sinks, and a very nice screened outside shower. The bathroom... more

We spent 2 nights at Namutoni and were rather disappointed. We could not fault the 2 bedroomed chalet which was modern and spacious but we found the layout of the resort rather inconvenient. You are required to leave the car in a car park and are taken to a drop-off point nearer to the camp, but still some distance to... more

Booking was difficult with NWR. First sent an email. No response. Then used the booking form on the NWR website. No response. Finally called a week before the trip. Found out that they are about 1 - 2 weeks behind in answering emails and that they would respond withing a few days.... Protested. Was connected several times and finally was... more

When we booked the 3 camps at Etosha in January 2007 we had no idea what we were really getting. The Namibia Wildlife Resorts web site at that time did not give a clear indication of what the accommodation was like. Other web sites showed pretty basic rooms. Because we were booking National Park facilties we lowered our expectations. Shortly... more

The Namutoni rest camp has recently been remodeled for Etosha's 100 year celebration. We stayed in a very nice 2 bedroom suite with en suite facilities, kettle, fridge, A/C, and an outside shower (all very modern in appearance). Having stayed at other government managed rest camps in Namibia and South Africa before, as well as 6+ private safari lodges in... more

The Historic German Fort in is the middle of the Namutoni resort. Impossible to miss it. Ther is a lot of wildlfe in the surrounding including the lions. Actually, this is the best place to stay of lions. We stayed in a room inside the fort. Fabulous stay ! There is no private bathroom and the common ones are very... more
