When we checkend in we were confronted with paying cash (!) for the key! Never in the whole world I had this experiance!!!! No were mentioned that this is a must! Ok, we still had some cash, but some guests did not cash, so you have a problem. The room was clean and big, no problem, one bedside lamp was... More

We spent one night at the waterhole chalet. The room wasn't bad except we did not have full view of the waterhole from our balcony as advertised. The food was not great and after spending 2 nights in Onkoshi, realized how horrendous the service is. The morning we checked out we were told upon waiting that a hand towel was... More

We booked a waterhole chalet, W 34 and it was absolutely an experience never to forget. We overlooked the waterhole from our upstairs bedroom. We felt like royalties. The chalet was clean, and spacious. Negative points, the light in the shower wasn't working, the tiles were cracked and loose. The stair was quite dangerous. However, and this I must agree... More

At the apex of the rows facing the best water hole in Africa, this two-storey chalet was an oustanding spot to view the wildlife - all night long. Twin chaises on the 2nd floor balcony, a duvet, a drink and binoculars, a floodlit water hole and then lions, and rhinos and elephants and zebras and more rhinos and lions and... More

Having read some of the bad reviews about this lodge, we still booked as we were keen to see the wildlife at the waterhole. We went with very low expectations and were pleasantly surprised as it was not as bad as we were expecting. Yes the check in process is outdated and somewhat slow and time consuming. But after expressing... More

Having been in Africa for 6 weeks we stayed at 8 different lodges / hotels. We spent 3 nights here. The service we received was so incredibly poor, if it wasn’t for the waterhole and animals I am sure this lodge would be out of business in days!! It was not due to incompetent or unintelligent service staff but more... More

Really enjoyed this hotel, only stayed here for 1 night but was great. The rooms were lovely, the restaurant was excellent. I really enjoyed both the evening buffet and the breakfast, great choice of meats etc. The staff were all really friendly, couldn't fault them. Another highlight was the excellent nigh water hole where we saw 8 black rhino's -... More

Okaukuejo has, BY FAR, the best waterhole in Etosha. You go for the game. Anything else is secondary. In March, 2013 we stayed at Namutoni, Okaukuejo and Dolomite. Namutoni had the best room but poor common facilities and waterhole. Okaukuejo had the best game viewing and a moderate room. Dolomite seems to target a more upscale resort market but there... More

I spent 4 days and 3 days in Etosha National Park in April 2013 and stayed one night each at Namutoni, Halali and Okaukuejo Resorts. I would rank Namutoni and Okaukuejo very closely, with Halali not so great (i.e. skip it if you can as the rooms and service are not so good, however the pool is the largest). Namutoni... More

As others have said, the main reason for staying here is the waterhole, which is right at the edge of the camp, separated from the viewing area by a low wall and barbed wire. It is the single best guaranteed-to-see-animals spot in Etosha National Park. It is also well situated to visit the Pan itself, as well as other waterholes... More
