We stayed two nights here after entering from the Von Lindequist east gate. It took most of the day to drive from the east gate through the park visiting waterholes to arrive her by about 3pm. The best feature about this poperty is the floodlit waterhole. There are always some snimals there, except perhaps first thing in the morning. Food... more

Loved Okaukuejo! Room: Waterhole Chalet #2 (opened directly to waterhole -- brilliant). Room is a bit on the small side, but who spends any time in the room??? Small patio area with interesting wire furniture -- never sat in as it did not look terribly comfortable. Bathroom was fine and soaps, insect lotion and shampoo were provided. Beds were very... more

For a government-backed lodge inside a national park, I have not much to complain partly also because I didn't have high expectation either. However, the room is large enough and clean; the food, the usual buffet style, was okay and there was a swimming pool, post office, and gift shop to boot. I actually preferred this one to Halali, especially... more

Just got back from staying 2 nights at Okaukuajo (we booked a waterhole chalet) -FANTASTIC- the buffet was good, accommodation excellent and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Due to all the bad reports that I have previously read on this site, I expected the worse and I must say, that we were pleasantly surprised. We would certainly... more

We were a party of 10 using 5 rooms, one of which was a family roon. (3 ex South Africa, 7 ex UK). This commentary is a consensus view of the whole party. This camp needs a big clean up. Chipped cutlery and dirty table cloths were the order of the day. The standard rooms are a disgrace, they are... more

My heart sank a little when we arrived as our 'accessible' bungalow was down the hill from the restaurant......which meant a push on my part as my partner is in a wheelchair. Then I realised how close we were to the waterhole! Only beneficial I expect in the dry season as we didn't see one animal there in 4 days/nights!... more

We were a little nervous about our stay at Okaukuejo Rest Camp having read some of the reports and after hearing comments about it on our journey around Namibia. We had booked 2 nights in a Waterhole Chalet and viewed our intended stay as an opportunity to base ourselves in the park but with low expectations of the staff and... more

We stayed at Okaukuejo for 2 night, from 1 to 2 october, 2008. We had a nice time, but the rooms were too small for families. There are no hairdrawer in the rooms, and no mini-bar. more

We are 'regulars' in Etosha NP and would never dream of staying outside. UNtil Now! We entered by Von Lindquist for three nights at Halali and two here. Obviously we could not pay our fees until reaching here. On check in we paid our fees (overcharged for the car) and were allocated our 'room'. NOT a Chalet as booked but... more

Please take notice and care : We´'ve been in Okaukuejo from 06-10-2008 until the 10-10-2008 , in two splenid bedrooms (36 and 37) for myself and my son and our driver/guide (respectively) . The service (Reception , Restaurant and housekeeping for the rooms) deserves a 0 value rating for the lack of professionalism , lack of interest , bad knowledge... more
