Okaukuejo was perhaps our greatest positive surprise given some of the whining about it that has been on this forum. No - do not expect the attention and pampering that you get at smaller lodgings. Do expect magical evenings at the waterhole, luxurious lodgings (at least at waterhole chalets - which are a must!) and perfectly efficient service. If you... More

This resort which has both hotel and camping facilities is extremely slick and caters for the large amount of people that are passing through the Etosha area. This high throughput has its downsides but the helpful and friendly staff certainly do their best to deal with these diverse groups and their many and varied expectations. Okaukuejo's forte is its floodlit... More

The campsite is located 20km from Andersson Gate at Etosha National Park. There is an old German Fort Tower to walk up with a great view from the top. We had an adequate site at a popular camp ground. The amenities were clean & there is a lovely pool & bar. The shop was well stocked. The floodlit waterhole was... More

Over our two nights stay in Okaukuejo Restcamp we experienced inconsistent service (make sure to book your dinner table each night in advance!) and adequate food. All accommodations were well spaced out. Our chalet N85 was very spacious, clean and in close proximity to the entrance leading to a great waterhole. Fridge, tea facilities, good towels and toilet paper, no... More

We spent the majority of our Etosha trip staying in a lodge outside the park, but were keen to spend a night here to experience the waterhole as well as to get an early start on game driving the next morning. We are so pleased that we did, as sitting by the waterole at night, sipping a glass of wine... More

I booked a waterhole chalet for 2 nights but could only get 1 night and 1 night in a normal chalet / frankly I preferred the second night which was approx 15 metres behind the first 1 but larger, with a kitchenette and seating area both inside the chalet and outside. Both had mosquito nets, mini fridges, kettles and in... More

Stayed at a bush chalet and really enjoyed it! Braai facilities allowed us to make our own food and the chalet was spacious, clean and friendly. We were close to the water hole, which must be the best in the park.Unfortunately Etosha had a huge fire a month ago and huge tracts of land are completely burnt and not inhabited by any animals.This... The rooms are were well presented and clean, with effective air conditioning. The resort is well located within the national park. Unfortunately the night we stayed the hotel was very busy and the service suffered as the staff were over stretched. The buffet food for was adequate, but breakfast was scheduled to start at 6:00, but cooked food, coffee and... More

Lynn and I stayed at Oakakejo Resort in November of 2011. We were here at the beginning of a 24 day trip in Namibia. This was our 4th safari experience. We were on a self drive this time..driving from Windhoek. Registration was complicated. First, we had to pick up a permit at the Park entrance. Next we had to enter... More
