When you are looking for a comfortable place to stay near Etosha Park I do recommend this place with no doubt. Nice staff always willing to help you and wonderful tours & safaris. The restaurant is well served with a good variety in all the meals.

Ok, we've been lucky enough to be treated to some pretty special hotels but this place has earned a spot on our top 10 list. Everything about it was top notch. Rooms spectacular and romantic, food 5 star in quality and presentation, service..perfect. We loved this place!

We visited the Fort for two days - and I must say, one of our highlights of our 2014 Namibian journey! Great team, from the very friendly management team to a most dedicated kitchen, great view from the deck and the best - the honeymoon suite! A definite must if you want to be spoilt!

Very unique and special Moorish style lodge and very nice accomodations. Minor issue was having to call for a golf cart to transport us from rooms to lodge because of wild game. Entire staff was accomodating and basically responded gracefully and promptly to our needs. Our game drives were very productive from a grouip of 45 elephants going to water... More

Onguma the Fort is one of the most unusual and appealing of all the lodges we have stayed at. We just missed a cheetah drinking at the waterhole the day we arrived and then we saw lions at two of the waterholes in Etosha but the Fort is so different with its Moroccan feel that we spent one whole day... This is probably one of the most original lodges in the world. You have a room in the form of a castle. You can open 'the wind', by doing that it looks if your are sleeping in Etosha national park. The service is very personal and the food is excellent.

Not to brag, but to give this review some context, we are well-travelled, and we've stayed at some of the world's finest properties. And The Fort at Onguma is near the top of that list! From driving in at sunset and seeing giraffes in silhouette on the horizon to the smallest details, our stay was outstanding. While the setting is... More

i was so reluctant to leave Etosha and check out Onguma the Fort. Game drive was not a priority in this trip to Namibia so we just booked one night, which was definitely too short! Staying in Onguma means zero distance from the nature. just imagine watching the sunset from your own bed, watching impalas approaching cautiously to the water... More

We stayed at Onguma for 3 nights - The sunset from the fort truly is spectaular! This is a great (romantic) place to come perhaps at the end of your trip for some R&R time by the pool or spend a day lounging in your room with the tent window open and watching the wildlife stroll to the waterhole on... Onguma Fort provides high end accommodation just outside of the east end of Etosh Park and is highly recommended over nearby government-run park accommodations. The chalets are architecturally-beautiful Moorish styled rock, concrete, wood and canvas structures - very spacious and elegant - totally over the top. Dining (outside with a commanding view) was also excellent. Unlike a lot of other... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Fort is unlike any other, the only one of its kind in Namibia, built in exactly the right spot to give our guests probably one of the best sunset views in the whole of Namibia. Overlooking the beautiful scarceness of the Etosha Pans, decorated only with its wild animals and hundreds of Camel Thorn trees that dot the landscape. Accommodation consists of twelve Bush Suites with fire places for the winter months and air coolers for the summer months. Each suite has an indoor and outdoor shower. The one and only Fort Suite is situated inside the Main Tower of the main complex. It has a large beautifully designed bedroom that leads into a lounge area and out onto a private viewing deck. ... more   less
