i was so reluctant to leave Etosha and check out Onguma the Fort. Game drive was not a priority in this trip to Namibia so we just booked one night, which was definitely too short! Staying in Onguma means zero distance from the nature. just imagine watching the sunset from your own bed, watching impalas approaching cautiously to the water... More

We stayed at Onguma for 3 nights - The sunset from the fort truly is spectaular! This is a great (romantic) place to come perhaps at the end of your trip for some R&R time by the pool or spend a day lounging in your room with the tent window open and watching the wildlife stroll to the waterhole on... Onguma Fort provides high end accommodation just outside of the east end of Etosh Park and is highly recommended over nearby government-run park accommodations. The chalets are architecturally-beautiful Moorish styled rock, concrete, wood and canvas structures - very spacious and elegant - totally over the top. Dining (outside with a commanding view) was also excellent. Unlike a lot of other... More

We stayed last week, end of november, 3 nights in the Fort. I am a travel agent so I expected a lot. We were not disappointed at all! Only one thing was less, the air-conditioning in the chalets is not working well. Beside of that, it makes a lot of noise, outside and inside, a pity for such a perfect... More

The resort is build like a maroccan kasbah, and so are all the individual bungalows. The overall place, the waterhole, up to the very details of the inner decorations are just wonderful! Sitting on the terrace of the lounge, watching the giraffes come to drink at the waterhole, or sitting on our own terrace watching sundown, was just marvelous! Is... More

We were fortunate enough to stay in the Sultan suite and it was super luxurious. This place was out of this world and regret not booking for a longer stay. Do not pass up an opportunity to stay here on your way in or out of Etosha. Frankly, we would have been happy to stay here and enter the game... More

Luxury accommodation with twelve well-spaced accommodation blocks (known as bush suites) fanning out either side of the central dining block (six in either direction). In common with most such establishments there are wild animals roaming around so one needs to be escorted at all times by one of the staff when moving between the buildings (this isn't illusory just to... Entering Onguma Fort is like stepping into a desert oasis with a welcoming reflecting pool and fountain, glorious scenery from the sitting and dining area out to the endless plains of Etosha. At the watering hole, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs, scores of shorebirds gather. Each suite is a separate building with large sleeping area, a huge bathroom, and an expansive deck... More

The chalets, You can not call them chalets. These are mini castles in Moroccan style. At the Fort the atmosphere is a bit stiff, a bit formal. No bush atmosphere as at Tree Tops. The waterhole is not close to the lodge. The food is good. The quality of your game viewing, depends on the quality of the tracker. You... More

The rooms are totally stunning - the best we experienced on our entire trip. 'Room' is not doing it justice, every room here is like a mini castle with a wonderful deck overlooking the water hole and surrounding area. Its not African in style but was easily our most luxurious and comfortable room. To return to the room after dinner... More
