Namibia is a big country and distances between places can be vast. Sometimes places can only be reached by fairly poor conditioned dirt tracks. Etosha Mountain Lodge is one of those places. However what meets you when you do eventually get there is one of the most fantastic places I have ever stayed. Nestled near the top of a hillside in it's own private reserve the views are stunning. The accommodation is top notch as well with good food and friendly service. Unfortunately even though you can see the Etosha fence from the decking the only access to the park is through one of the main gates and this is over 1 hours drive away. However The national park is a must do trip. As it takes a while to get to Etosha Mountain Lodge I would recommend a minimum 2 night stay. Also take a 4 wheel drive or something with good ground clearance. I lost an engine mount off the underneath of my Polo classic. Unfortunately for Namibian hire cars you are responsible for any underneath damage. more
