With my family I rented a standard 2 bedroom cabin for one week. It was a wonderfully relaxing week of games, conversations and sunrises/sunsets. The owners' gracious and generous hospitality was great. The cabin was clean and well suited for a quiet week in the woods and on the lake shore. Now that we're back in Chicago, we dearly miss... If you want a sterile, franchise-like vacation experience, then don’t come here. However, if you, like us, prefer a genuine up-north feeling, come to Eagle Lodge Lakeside. This unspoiled, natural, quiet setting directly on the shores of Lake Superior charmed us from the moment we arrived. The cozy cabins are simple but well-appointed, with a vintage feel. You really get... More

Where should I begin? The accommodations were rustic, as some call it but "outdated" in our book. Even though we were told we would have certain accommodations like a fireplace and queen size bed, we didn't mind that we didn't have either of these. We actually had a lot of laughs at the expense of the outdated decor, worn and... More

This is a newly remodeled cabin with brand new kitchen and bathroom cabinets, fixtures and flooring. Walls are drywall with real knotty pine wainscoting throughout the cabin. This man was very angry because the satellite TV was out due to snow and ice accumulation on the dish. He wanted me to get a ladder, climb up to the roof and... More

We stayed here 4 day in July 2013. Our reserved cabin had a plumbing problem so John put us in the log cabin right on the lake. The log cabin is the best on the property. Very comfortable with a fireplace (although we didn't need it in late June), TV, very nice kitchen and the views of Lake Superior cannot... More

Three of us stayed in the log cabin during a guys weekend in the UP. The cabin is very rustic and has a number of modern conveniences--full size range and refrigerator, microwave, satellite tv, and wireless internet. The cabin loft contains two separate rooms separated by a curtain. In one room there is one double bed and the other room... More

My hubby & I stayed in the older red log cabin (3 bdrms) with a great front porch (4 low steps) looking onto Lake Superior. Beautiful view & you can get right down to the water. Our 2 old dogs did well, except we had to put a blockade up around the oil heater as it gets very hot. The... More

Reminded me of going to camp when young. The cottage at the lakeside sort of memories. If you want luxury go to a high end expensive place. If you want the old fashion summer vacation by the sea this is the spot. Bedding was clean and everything was neat. The small ktichen is all you need for summer. Cabins are... More

My sisters and I have stayed at Eagle Lodge every Spring since 2005 for our annual Scrapbooking Retreat. "Our" cabins, 18 & 19, are perfect for us! The ever changing mood of Lake Superior is right in front of us. Both cabins have an all season room with lots of windows and a cozy, if needed, gas fireplace. Super comfy... More

If you like 1/2 step up from a tent, maybe these are for you. When my husband and I pulled up next to the cabin, we both gasped at the particle board walls. Once inside, I stood there for about 5 minutes just frozen in place, shocked at the accomodations. Neither of us made a move to bring in the... More

This was our second visit to Eagle Lodge in as many years. Liz is updating many things. We couldn't help but notice the new metal roofs on many of the cabins (those roofs are not cheap!). This was a hunting lodge before Liz and Doug got it and those guys were hard on it. Doug's been gone for over a... More
