I stayed in the Beach House Inn, while my son's family stayed in the motel/suites portion of Silver Sands. Everything was clean and seemingly well maintained, for an older property. Very close to Silver Lake (3 minute walk or less, depending on if you go solo or with grandkids in tow), and two private beaches for guests. However, the SAND... More

We stayed in one of the cottages (#6). The location was very central to the activities in town. That's where the highlights for this place ends. There is "beach access", but it's just sand, no swimming area...it's a private sand box, basically. Good luck toting your stuff and small children up the dunes at the State Park, which is what... I read the reviews prior to my first ever visit to Michigan so I was aware of some of the issues others wrote. I was overly pleased with the accommodations. It was a very clean, friendly, safe resort. The others staying around us were pleasant and fun. The owners were helpful each time I called prior to our arrival as... More

This is a nice place for a family to stay especially when considering there just aren't a lot of places in Silver Lake. Nice outdoor pool. Office staff very nice. Room is a bit dated - shower is definitely made for shorter people :) Right in the middle of activities in Silver Lake. wifi did not work in our room.

If you like giant hairballs in your bedroom, a sewer that over flows and stinks, pot smoke bellowing out of other hotel rooms and a drunk owner that swears at your kid blows cigar smoke in your face and insults your guest then this is it. Worst Fourth of July experience ever . Very over priced but a beautiful resort... More

If you are offering WiFi, it should be available in room. Television service would go in and out on our 19" box television. We had to ask for rugs for bathroom and front entry. Ceiling lights burnt out in bedroom. There wasn't enough hot water for 2 showers back to back. You shouldn't be charging this much for a hotel/cabin... More

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in July, 2014. It was very cool for July. This hotel is right in the middle of everything. It's within walking distance of the lake, the watercraft rentals, the Jeep and ATV rentals, the restaurants, the general store, the arcade and go carts, and the ice cream places. The staff were... The owners were very pleasant during the check in process. Location was perfect because it was within walking distance to all the attractions and restaurants. The pool was clean and nicely kept up. If people wanted to BBQ there were around 4 grills lined up next to the pool area. The price was decent, however my main complaint is that... More

This was our first time staying at this location. The location is very convenient, within walking distance of just about everything. However, if you are looking for a "quiet" stay this is not for you. The go cart track across the street and the traffic leaving the dunes in the evening is noisy. The pool was clean but a little... Doors do have security chains vs. deadbolts as secondary lock Pool is maintained between 75-80 deg. per health department recomendations Our location "is" great, but yes, being in the center of Silver Lake where all of the action is can be a little busy. Our large courtyard area is sheltered from the activity around and is relativly quite, and the... More
