The good: This B & B has a lot of history and much of the place is kept in the period. It is located in a great location across from a park and within walking distance of uptown, restaurants and many shops. Had no problem with our room even though it sat really close to a main road where we... More

I stayed at National House Inn last night. My boyfriend and I traveled to Marshall for their annual Christmas parade and to do some shopping. Marshall is such a charming town at Christmas and National House Inn added even more Christmas charm! The Inn is cozy and nicely decorated for the holiday. Our room was very, very clean and the staff... More

The Inn is really showing its age and doesn't offer much in amenities whatsoever. There is no fridge or microwave in the very small room we were in; and even though it was clean, everything is very outdated. Breakfast was very minimal and nothing to rave about. We went on Halloween night specifically for the so-called haunted reputation, but were... More

This was a great way to get away for a limited time. Rooms were awesome and clean. Breakfast home made, was delicious. Pleasant time and we will be back. Consider booking ahead of time. Largest beds available are queen size (still a smaller size). Quaint town, cute shops, a lot of history. Took a ghost carriage ride and would love... More

What an amazing bed and breakfast in a charming town. The National House Inn is an old stage coach stop with many rooms suiting many different needs. We stayed in the Charles Dickey room and and were extremely comfortable with a private bath. The innkeepers were great and served an awesome breakfast in a very comfortable dining room. I would... We booked at the last moment when the weather looked great for the Fall leaf viewing in Michigan. Not surprisingly, the inn was almost fully booked but the Andrew Mann room was available. A nice room, but with only a double bed, perhaps a little too cozy. The staff is great, and the Inn itself very historic, but understand its... More

This place is in a location that allows for parking your car upon arrival and not getting back in until you leave. We stayed with a group of friends and had a blast walking to Dark Horse Brewery, local shops, and restaurants. The breakfast is very good and the staff is friendly. Our room was the Gordon and we loved... More

We stayed at the National House in Marshall, Michigan after a difficult situation. As soon as we checked in, the staff told us afternoon refreshments were set up for us in the dining room. The cookies, lemonade or ice tea were so welcoming. Our room (the Brooks room) was lovely and overlooked their small garden. The antiques throughout the inn... More

I have stayed at National House many times over a span of probably thirty years. I used to travel often, before retirement, to the Detroit area on business, and usually stopped short of Motown for a more leisurely stay at NH. It is claimed to be the oldest continually operating hostelry in the state of Michigan, and surely lives up... More

The Inn was very old but kept very well, very quaint. We stayed one night---the room and bath were rather small but understandably so since it is antique. The inn had very nice sitting rooms on two levels. One drawback---the building is on a main junction and every other vehicle in Marshall has loudest exhaust and engines ---it was so... More
