I loved the NHI. Everyone was wonderful, clean, and food was delicious. I liked their ghost stories, and I found out they're on the national registry for that. THEN, I was fixing martini's in the restroom to be near the water, and my full bottle of vodka went flying across the room. It didn't fall vertically down to the floor... More

Beautiful historic building. I felt like I stepped back into the 1800s when I walked in. Our room (Ellis) was bright and comfortable. Bath could use a little work but all in all not bad for the price. I would stay here again.

We had a wonderful evening at the National House Inn. The room was very comfortable and just what we needed for a get away. Barbara, our host, was very informative about the area, and served us a delicious and filling breakfast. The Inn was charming and there are many great stories about the place. Our bathroom was amazing with a large... More

The place has a very uncomfortable feeling. ...very old and not inviting. The rooms are very small nothing like the pictures on the website. Also over priced. WARNING!! MAKE SURE TO LOOK AT THE ROOMS BEFORE YOU INVEST YOUR MONEY. ..There will be no REFUNDS!!

This place truly is a historical inn. The floors in the registration area are the original boards from the mid-1800s. We had a two-room suite that was very comfortable and full of antiques. We had a bathroom and a powder room in the suite which was a pleasure when getting ready in the morning. Kassie, who checked us in, was... More

We stayed at National House Inn while attending an event at Dark Horse Brewery, which is just a 5-minute walk away. We got into town long before check-in, but were able to park our car at the Inn's lot with no trouble. When we came back around 5 pm, I was pleasantly surprised by the large room , The Gorham,... Lovely building that looks and feels old; I appreciate that the owner did not give in to a lot of updating. It's like stepping back in time. Cool little touches like popcorn left out in the evening and historic photo books of the area for anyone to browse through. Nice, relaxed, take-your-time atmosphere. The fountain out front is just great... More

I very much enjoyed my stay at National House. For me, it was just what I want in a B&B: charming with lots of fun little touches like a welcoming wood-burning fireplace, tea and coffee with the BEST biscotti I have ever had on arrival, popcorn in the evening, and a delicious breakfast. I appreciated talking with Barb over breakfast,... More

My wife and I stayed at the National Inn over the course of an extended winter weekend as a get-away (late February). Barb is a wonderful, caring and passionate owner / proprietor who takes care of her guests as well as her property. She is proud to share stories and conversation, encourage you to relax by the fire, make a... More

I had read reviews of the Old Nationl House before we stayed there and I was skeptical, but I shouldn't have ready the reviews. The Inn is quite charming. Yes, it is old and squeaky and the rooms might be dim and not the most modern. But it is a very old building. The inn keepers have done a wonderful... More
