Warm atmosphere, caring innkeepers, great food. What more could we say? Every detail was given to this charming inn which is furnished with lovely antiques both in the bedrooms and the dining room and living area. Plenty of space for small group discussions and late-night snacks to enjoy. The National House Strada for breakfast was a special treat, and they... More

Lovely, large B & B. Service was nice. Inn was authentically historical. Very conveniently located and walkable to top attractions such as the Honolulu house and Dark Horse Brewery. We would stay here again for sure.

Marshall, Michigan is a charming old town well worth exploring, especially during the holidays. The decorations on the old houses are amazing, and the Main Street is all decked out. The best place to stay downtown is National House. Here you are treated like family. We arrived late without a reservation and warmly invited to choose a room from all... More

This historic inn located in Marshall, MI is worth a stay just to experience stepping back in time. A former stagecoach stop, at 170 years old, it claims to be "the oldest operating bed and breakfast in Michigan." The inn offers 16 rooms. If you want to experience what that might have been like, stay here. If you prefer amenities... More

My wife and I took advantage of the Sunday night special at the National House Inn and were able to be lodged in the Ketchum Suite on the first floor. We were very pleased not to have to lug anything up the stairs. Talk about "quaint!" A top hat that looked like Abe Lincoln's, a century old cradle and furniture... More

This is far more than a mere place to rest after a long day on the road. It is a time capsule, a gem, a restful haven from the cares of the day and a destination. The staff is exceptional, the owner amicable, and the attention to detail at all levels is evident. To say this was a highlight of... More

A really historic inn on the old stagecoach road. It's OLD, so don't expect all the modern amenities of a hotel (although there is free wifi and small tvs in each room)! But it's sooo comfy! One reader said the rooms are dark -- some of the ones we peeked into did seem dark, but in a period way and... More

My husband and I just spent a couple of days in Marshall staying over two nights at the National House Inn. Marshall is a lovely small town and the National House Inn may be the best accomodations available, but you should be aware that the Ketchum Suite is not so sweet. The rooms are dark, most of the furniture would... More

Enjoyed our stay at the Inn. We arrived really early and was able to park our car in the parking lot while we met up with three other couples. The lady at the desk was very helpful, sorry can't remember her name, even though she was busy cleaning up the morning breakfast, she took the time to tell us about... More

I chose to come to Marshall for the historical significance and to get away. If I would have know how peaceful and relaxing this Inn and city was; I would have arranged the trip to be longer. The Inn is kept in traditional form, where the rooms are separated and well appointed. One cannot help to look at all the... More
