Glass-and-glass is the contemporary hotel style ...think The Godfrey in Chicago. I prefer the older, the smaller, the traditional: The Talbott, Das Tyrol, The Library ...perhaps even The Drake. Well, when in Marquette, northern Michigan's capital city, the Landmark Inn will do the trick nicely. The suites are quite large (the baths enormous) and comfortable, and the faux fireplace qualifies... More

We've stayed here maybe more than any other hotel on the planet. We love downtown Marquette, we love the rooms, the pub, the sky lounge... even the price is reasonable. The bathrooms are spacious and the linens are nice. We've had good beds but the last couple times the mattresses are old and need replacing, but overall, the accommodations are... More

We have been traveling through the Upper Peninsula literally for decades, but had never stayed at The Landmark Inn. This year the timing worked for us to stay a night in Marquette and we were thrilled. The location is the best in Marquette--close to the very nice downtown shopping area and lots of great restaurants. As three sisters traveling together we... More

You sort of expect that this should be a boring place with no atmosphere at all, but it is quite quirky! We stayed in three different rooms and they were all big with queen size good quality beds. The interior is pretty kitsch, but that only adds to the charm. I especially loved the "Mad Men" fifties plastic bathrooms! When... More

The Landmark Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It has been completely remodeled in a fine way. It retains the history of this old hotel but it is very modern with amenities, including easy parking. That is, everything works well! The room was spacious with all the modern conveniences. Even the heater was quiet! The bathroom was simply amazing.... More

Stayed there September 19 for our son's wedding. What a lovely establishment. Easy to find as it's on top of one of the high spots in Maquette with a large sign. It is an old establishment but it has kept itself appropriately modern without losing the charm of the history of the hotel. Our hotel room was HUGE as were... More

This historical hotel downtown Marquette is fine for couples looking for a romantic weekend. Not recommended for business travellers looking for basic conveniences like a good working table, a fridge or a microwave. Rooms are European-sized and decorated with lots of frills. Hotel has well appointed restaurant on the main floor. There are no in-house swimming pool nor exercise equipment.... More

If you enjoy the best of a historic hotel with modern conveniences, the Landmark Inn is unusually accessible and affordable for its type. It's located in downtown Marquette with plenty of free parking immediately adjacent to it. The building has been tastefully renovated to give a historic appearance, but it functions in a totally modern way. Despite using a special... More

For a historic inn this place was in good shape. Clean and well kept without losing it's character. Downstairs bar was lively and efficiently tended by a knowledgeable, professional staff member. The room had a bit too much "stuff" in it which limited the space, but the bed was comfortable. The centralized location was key. Easy to walk to the... More

Stayed at the Landmark over Labor Day weekend for the Blues Festival. We were with another couple and stayed in a suite with living room & bedroom, two bathrooms. Could not have worked out better! We hung out with friends most of the weekend but were able to park at the hotel and walk to the festival and to shopping,... More
