Little Tree Cabins are nothing fancy, just basic cabins in the knotty-pine-cabin style of the '50's. We stayed in the largest cabin, and it had all of the necessities, including kitchen and small bathroom with tub/shower. Each cabin comes with a basic row boat for fishing the lake; and there's a fish-gutting table at the lake shore's edge.
What makes the cabins are the very friendly and accomodating owners - along with Lake Independence at the resort and Lake Superior close by (you can kayak via a small outlet from Lake Independence to Lake Superior.)
We stayed for a mini family reunion with grandparents, great-aunt, and two families and an au pair! The teenaged kids were happy to fish and kayak all day (rent from Big Bay Outfitters, also very nice and they will bring - and pick up- the boats to you!), traipse the woods, and sit around the campfire at night.
Cram's General Store (and laundromat and cafe) is up the road about 2 miles - it's a true...
