We recently took a family vacation to the Detroit area. We wanted to go to the Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, the Zoo, and the Michigan Science Museum. We chose the Fairfield Inn. We found it a little out of the way, but at the same time, it was not an issue getting where we needed to get, with easy... More

I was up here work. I seem to stay at the Fairfield inn a lot Witt this company I work for. The staff was pretty nice there I didn't see them much working 84hrs a week. My only annoyance doesn't have to do with the hotel it's the state of michigan in that area. The roads are terrible in that... More

I stayed in this motel for 5 nights and was very pleased at how clean the hotel was kept and how the staff did all they could to make me comfortable. I was impressed with the breakfast buffet- the variety, temperature, and flavor.Having coffee available in the lobby 24 hours a day was an added plus for me. I had... More

It's been a while since I've pulled into a hotel and got that sinking feeling in my chest. I was with my 16 year old daughter on a shopping trip to Oakland Mall and being a Marriott member, we stayed here on points. I still wouldn't stay again. The property is very run down and had a Motel 6 type... More

This particular Fairfield Inn by Marriott is well located in a Detroit suburb. It is near I-75 and thus within easy distance of downtown Detroit, in Madison Heights, near the bustling suburb of Troy. Complimentary breakfast is generous as is the breakfast area. The rooms, as previously noted, are small and and sparse. Beds and pillows are comfortable, up to... More

Royal Oak has not hotels. Hence, I stay here. I had a free night. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. Convenient to I 75. Walk three blocks west to nearby gym, coffee shop, and grocery store. Just 3 miles to Royal Oak. Clean rooms. Never had a problem. Bargain rates. (I redeemed Marriott points.)

Small room. The bathroom was claustrophobic. The décor and finishes were updated but it was hard to get over the size of the room. The cheap rate couldn't make up for the size and questionable location.

Business travel put me in this hotel for 2 nights. I stayed in this hotel 5 years ago and was at best "fairly satisfied" with my stay. I found that the hotel has refreshed a bit over the years and actually made for a nice stay. Call me old fashioned, but there is something to be said about parking in... More

I loved my stay here. Great laundry facilities on site. Being greeted by the stunning Russia helped! Lol. She was super nice. And there was a housekeeper from Iraq I think, named Jennifer, she was so kind & made the lobby a fun place to wait on your laundry :) then a guy came in to take over the front... More

Other reviewers are correct: this is an older property. The rooms are on the small side but there is plenty of parking and we encountered nothing but courteous, attentive staff. Breakfast was plentiful. Beds were comfortable and there is a plethora of AC outlets in the room. The only downside is that my room stunk. Bad. It smelled stale, like... More
