I had read the reviews, so I had expected the worst. We didn't have a kitchenette like the web said...we did have a dollhouse chalet. Very small and cozy! The Econolodge in Mackinaw City we stayed at as an extended family vacation was the worst. According to the online pictures and information we were supposed to stay at a lovely chalet with 2 bedrooms, a living room, bathroom, and a kitchenette. Only complaints were that internet reception was non-existant in rooms, had to sit outside pointing toward office to get a signal, when I complained was told that there must be something wrong with my firewall or virus software (but not outside???) Since I have heard this many times before from hotels with poor reception I just used the computer outside.... more

We had one room where both beds had hair in them. They moved us to a new room which was smaller and in the bathroom in the shower their was an open bar of soap with hair all over it. They wouldn't refund our money and I will never go there again. more
