The inn is just steps from shops and the ferry to the island. The house is beautiful and very clean. The hosts are very nice and knowledgeable about the area and had great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. The breakfasts were delicious, eggs Benedict were my favorite. The only suggestion I have for them is to... More

I would highly recommend this inn. We stayed in the Hemingway room which was very tastefully decorated, and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. I just loved the two leather chairs that were facing the fireplace! We had two wonderful breakfasts, very filling. Our hosts were eager to share tips on our trip to the island and things to do there.... More

We had a lovely stay here! Our room (Hemmingway) was very clean with modern appointments, including a memory foam bed, a selection of pillows, wi-fi, fireplace, DVD player and whirlpool. Very comfortable and up-to-date even though the house is 100 years old. Breakfast was delicious both mornings, and Barry and Nancy were welcoming hosts, making sure all of the guests... More

I would reccomend this place. The innkeepers were very friendly. Nancy was outgoing and interesting. We stayed as a fmily 3 siblings and parents. We had 3 rooms. All three rooms wer clean and tidy. Many books and reading material in the common area. The only thing I'd have asked to be different is possibly a coffee maker available in... More

We stayed in the Hemingway room -- meticulously decorated, every detail carefully considered, beautiful furniture, large space, very clean. The Inn is ideally located near shops, restaurants and the ferry. The set up of our room surprised us. There is no door between the bedroom area and the sink, shower, and tub. Only the toilet has a door for privacy.... More

Thanks Barry and Nancy for a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the breakfasts and had a lovely nights sleep in the Hiawatha Room. Only a couple of negatives it would be nice to have access to hot water and drinks throughout the day. And it would be better for you to give people a chance to settle in before taking the... More

This place won't disappoint if you choose Deer Head Inn. Barry and his wife made you at home with their knowledge of the area and the nice breakfast spread. I really had no idea where in town it was located, but greatly surprised to find it was only a block of 'the strip', to which we walked to Shepard's Dock.... More

We started our week long road trip with two nights at the Deer Head Inn and no regrets. We arrived at 2:00 to check in and the room was ready. We were greeted at the door by Barry and made us feel welcome from the start. He showed us around the b&b then to our room. Very clean house and... More

Excellent place, friendly and informative hosts. Very clean and well cared for. Located in the heart of mackinaw city and just a quick walk away from the bridge and ferries to the island. Breakfast was amazing (no need for any food until dinner after that meal)! We will definitely stay again.

Friendly and helpful inn keepers. Barry and Nancy makes you feel at home and they give you the best advice on where to go and what to try. The B&B is one house off Main Street and 2 blocks from Shepler's Ferry. Very accessible to your needs.
