I stayed 2 nights in July in order to attend a conference at the Grand Hotel. Having stayed on Mackinac Island in the past, I didn't want to pay the outrageous rates simply for the convenience of staying on the island. The Chippewa did not disappoint. Even with the round-trip ferry fares, I saved a considerable amount of money and... more

Again we chose to stay here because of the friendly owners and staff. We have stayed here many times over the past 13 years and have never been disappointed. The place is older, but clean and kept up well. The rooms are big enough and have a small fridge. The pool is great, balcony with lake view, beautiful and the... more

My wife and I spent three days at the Chippewa Motor Lodge and we were very happy with our stay. The room was quaint and neat. The person(s) cleaning the room did a great job - my wife noted that the towels were folded into a cute heart shape. We looked forward to the homemade muffins (based on the reviews... more

My husband, myself, our six year old daughter and five year old nephew all enjoyed our stay at this property! We found the place easily, we were warmly greeted, and I was impressed by how clean our room was! Very warm feel to the place. Beautiful view from the shore of hotel over to the island. Very close to ferry... more

This stay could have been a disaster, but it turned out to be a great vacation. Upon check in I was notified that they had made a mistake and my lakefront room (I had booked the room for Wed, Thur, Friday, the rates ere $44 for Wed and Thur and $69 for Friday) was not available for my entire stay.... more

We stayed 3 days at the Motor Lodge in August 2007 (Fri-Sat-Sun) and paid $99 for a room with 2 queen beds and a view of the water. The room and bathroom were nice and clean. The bedroom was a nice size and included a table and 2 chairs. Linens were of good quality. The dorm-size refrigerator was a nice... more

We rented 2 private cabins for 2 nights 6-30 and 7-1 2007. The cabins offer a different type of experience that you don't get in a regular motel or hotel room. They really do have a "cabin-like" feel to them. It's not something that you normally see and we wanted to spend our vacation a little different. We arrived several... more

Our favorite place to stay in Mackinaw. For the last 13 years, at least once a year, we have come here to relax and enjoy the area. Clean, reasonable rooms, friendly service, yummy homemade muffins in the morning and a fun pool area for the kids. What more could you ask for? We enjoy the cute little cabins and have... more

The people were super friendly and the price was fair. Rooms were clean. We stayed at the Chippewa on August 8,9,10,11th. The rooms are very dated and the bathrooms are tiny. We had rooms on the third floor and it was a bit of a hike up the old wooden stairs. The beach was awful. Not groomed at all. Not... more
