My husband and I found Great Lakes Inn after leaving another motel that was unfit to sleep in. We searched all down the bay and either would have had to pay $300+/night or there was no vacancy. This hotel was just around the corner from main st and they had a jacuzzi/king suite for half the price of everyone else.... More

Two pools, clean but older rooms, WIFI did not work on the two days I was there, I complained and they said they had just had someone there to fix , I saw the equip and I'm sure its true. The couple that seem to run the place are getting on in years and I'm sure are doing their best... More

We just stayed a couple of nights ago and I was very impressed (despite some of the negative comments I read). The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The kids loved the pool. The indoor pool needs repainting but it wasn't "dirty". The hot tub was clean and although the water was cool when we first tried... More

We were originally planning on camping but after seeing our campsite decided to look for other options. It was a Saturday night in the middle of summer so we were a little worried about availability. Called the Great Lakes Inn and they had vacancy. It's a no frills motel but family run and friendly staff. We especially enjoyed being able... More

We decided to stay here because it has a good price and I read some good reviews. But I think it is better to pay a little bit more and stay in other hotels near by. First of all the hotel was empty and when I came back around 1 am all the light of the hotel were off. They... More

When we went to wash our hands shortly after arriving there was no hot water. I went and talked to the front desk clerk who informed me the hot water doesn't get turned on until after 7 in the evening. She did turn it on right away after I asked. There was hot water until we went to bed. However,... More

The hotel was a quick drive to the ferry docks and Mackinaw City. The room and pools were clean and the front desk person, Simona, was friendly and very helpful. The beds were a little hard but we were able to get a good night's sleep. I would stay there again.

My family stayed there on the weekend after July 4. The room was clean and everything was in order. Air conditioner worked well. The free breakfast consisted of coffee, orange juice, donuts and small muffins, which was a little underwhelming. The pools and the pool building needed some maintenance, but the water was clean and kids had a lot of... More

The kids and I stayed at the friendly Great Lakes Inn in Mackinaw City located very close to the ferries to Mackinac Island, downtown Mackinaw City, and to Thunder Falls Water Park in Mackinaw City. The Inn is run by a nice Austrian couple who you can tell take pride in their hotel. The hostess at the check-in desk, Simona,... More

Nice comfortable room. Easy access to parking. Friendly staff. Well-equipped rooms (microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, cable TV, and furniture as advertised). There was a bug in the room, though. And the breakfast was meager.
