The grounds were beautiful and the rooms very charming and clean. Staff very helpful. The view is incredible. However, the mattresses are atrocious! The worst we have ever slept on. In fact, we cut our stay short due to this. One can actually feel the coils in the bed poking through. We stayed in the Summer House. Apparently the mattress... More

Excellent spot. Honeymooned in 1989 and back with kids many times since. A bit of a bike ride from town but worth it. Incredible sun sets and bridge views. Try the croquet and cocktails on the porch. .

This is the most wonderful place, historic, beautiful, well located, the only problem is they bill this facility as a hotel, be clear! It is a wedding venue! We stayed 3 nights and they had a wedding each night. All are outdoors in a tent on the lawn, the music is loud, along with a shouting DJ, loud drunks, and... More

We had light bulbs out the all time n never got replaced. We had some kind of little bugs in our room. Stains on the carpet. A crack in our window. Just wasn't what I expected. The food was ok but not worth the prices

Thank you to all the staff at The Inn At Stonecliffe. My daughter and her husband held their wedding at this location and it turned out beautifully. The staff was extremely accommodating and very helpful! From enjoying breakfast each morning on the patio to the hors devours at the actual event the food was extremely well prepared and tasty. If you want to be in the center of the action, this is not the place. However, it was a great choice for us, as we wanted some relaxation and quiet at the end of our very busy days on the island. We brought our bikes and used them to get from downtown to the inn and back. There are... More

I wrote a review in May 2014 prior to us checking out. We had a bad experience with the facilities and personnel during our stay as I noted in my original May review. Trip Advisor would not let me make another review for 30 days. So this is an addendum to say that the Inn manager sought us out Sunday... More

For our 2014 summer vacation my husband and I chose Mackinac Island and the Upper Pennisula of Michigan. Having never been to the Island I was unsure of where to stay. My husband's brother and wife had vacationed on the Island a few years back so I asked for some recommendations. They had stayed downtown at the Island House and... More

Even though this Inn was a little off the beaten path from the mainstream city life of Mackinac, it was SUCH a delight to stay at. We stayed here for our honeymoon and loved every second of it. We purchased one of the packages their website had to offer which included a dinner for two one night and breakfast each... More

The Inn is about 2 miles from downtown, but the short walk or bike ride is definitely worth it. The grounds are meticulously groomed and the view of Mackinac Bridge is beautiful. The rooms at the Inn are very nice and the beds are comfy. The complimentary breakfast has an abundant selection of delicious food for even the pickiest of... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Inn at Stonecliffe enjoys a storied place in Mackinac Island history. Built in 1904 as a family summer escape by industrialist Michael Cudahy, Stonecliffe has enchanted guests for nearly half a century. Situated high on the west bluff, Inn at Stonecliffe lodging comprises a classic Tudor-style mansion that offers 16 bed and breakfast style guest rooms, and the more modern Summer House Suites, with 31 richly appointed suites decorated in a classic summer cottage style with a light Victorian influence. Overnight visitors to Mackinac Island often observe that the best time to enjoy the island is in the early morning or late evening when the last ferry has carried the daily visitors back to the mainland. At The Inn at Stonecliffe, you’ll enjoy that feeling every moment of your stay. Anywhere you turn, tranquility and relaxation await, from the breathtaking bluff-top views of the Straits of Mackinac and Mackinac Bridge to the Inn’s lush, rolling lawns.Special Services and / or Features: • Breakfast Included• Air Conditioning• Onsite Dining and Cocktail Lounge• Weddings and Events• Kitchenettes• Bike Rentals • Cable Television• Outdoor Heated Pool• Private Baths• Telephones• Complimentary Wireless Internet• Non Smoking ... more   less
