This was our first stay/trip to the island. We selected the hotel based on suggestions from friends that had stayed here before. The food was excellent. Location was very convenient - close to everything. Staff very helpful. Room was small, we had a back side room.

Loved the staff and location. Great lawn and front porch to sit on and enjoy the view. Our room needed some updating had cracked tiles in bathroom, broken shutters and small old television. Room was clean.

For a few reasons, we have ended up staying here a few times over the last twenty years, even though it is far from our favorite. The most think to know is that the hotel game is played with great seriousness. This hotel probably has more absolutely terrible rooms than most, and they are not afraid to dish them up.... More

I am in Mackinac City and my luggage from Island House is not here. This has cost delays for my return flight home due to their carelessness. They are blaming the people at Sheplers for not getting my luggage from the hotel to the dock. Island house brings luggage to the dock not the ferry company.
