Check-in went well. Which is surprising since our group was so large, but the pleasant surprises stopped there. The walls of my room were painted a jarring shade of canary yellow, and the view out of the odd numbered rooms is awful. Then the door to my hotel room would not read our key cards. It took them two hours... More

This was my husbands and I first time at Mackinaw island and we enjoyed our stay! We stayed at this hotel the first week in October. First, when we got off the boat, the hotel was about 100 feet away. I was very happy about that. I was a little worried how far the hotel would be being that there... More

We stayed for 3 nights but we were schuduled to stay for 2 nights. The staff was great! The location, rooms and rate, and it was VERY Handicap Excessible. I use a electric wheelchair and I could get around the hotel and Island just great! I also brought a standard wheelchair. So I could even go on the horse and... More

Beautiful, clean room with separate sitting /living area. Balcony with table and chairs overlooking Main St. and all the ambience of the Island. Loved watching the Horse Drawn Carriages clip clop down the street. Clean, relaxing rooms with great attentive staff. Really enjoyed our stay!

We have just returned from a six day stay at the Lilac Tree (our eleventh stay). We had a gorgeous fourth floor balcony suite with a view of Main Street and Lake Huron. The front desk was again very courteous and pleasant. Delphena and her housekeeping staff were once again very efficient and friendly - treated us like royalty. They're... More

Just returned from Mac, and stayed at the Lilac. The good is really good: nice suite, plenty of room, and a great location. On the other side is, not great noise protection from above, and hokey theme. All in all, I'd return, if for no other reason than it is about the best option for a suite on the Island.

My wife and I took my mother to Mackinac Island for her first time. We needed to get two separate rooms for sleeping and the hotel needed to be downtown for walking purposes. My mother is in her 80's and gets tired rather quickly. We all thought this hotel was just perfect. Our two room suite was located on the... More

My friends and I meet every year for a Girlfriends Getaway and we chose Mackinac Island this year. We drove up to Mackinaw City and caught Shepler's Ferry over to the island. Shepler's Ferry was wonderful! They took care of getting our luggage onboard, and even delivering it straight to our rooms at the Lilac Tree Hotel. The young man... More

We stayed the first night at a small bed & breakfast and it was nice, but a little off the main path. My wife and I decided to stay an additional night and we really like the way the Lilac Hotel looked and we called. They had a king spa room with a main street balcony. We could not have... More
