Welcome Home are our favorite two words to hear when we visit Mackinac Island and the Cloghaun Bed and Breakfast! With those two words the Innkeepers, Marti, Paul and Jim, instantly make you relax and feel like special guests. I remember the first time we entered through the front door of the Cloghaun, it was as if we had done... More

Cloghaun is the oldest bed and breakfast on Mackinac Island, which makes for stay with a bit of history. My boyfriend and I stayed here on a couple's vacation. The location is excellent - it is just a few yards up the street from the main ferry dock. The island is small, but this spot is very close to all... More

My sister, husband and I stayed here for my birthday weekend mid October. We stayed in the Bridget and Anita rooms. We were thoroughly thrilled with our stay. We stayed 2 nights. Very clean rooms. Nice B&B caretakers, excellent breakfast and afternoon tea. Our room the Bridget has a balcony with an amazing view. We loved it. My husband and... More

Thank you for your October 20th review of Cloghaun. I'm so glad you enjoyed your Birthday weekend and I'm pleased we were able to help make your visit enjoyable. The picture above the bed in the Bridget Room is The Lady of Shalott, a famous painting based on a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson. It's very Victorian, but it is... More

We have stayed at the Cloghaun twice now for autumn vacations to the island, and it has been wonderful. I haven't stayed at any of the other B&Bs on the island to compare to, but many of them online appeared to be too updated or remodeled. We prefer the historic charm of the Cloghaun. They offer a very nice breakfast... More

We spent 4 nights in this Bed & Breakfast. There is so much history here - many of the furnishings were brought over from Ireland. The sound of horses clip-clopping along the street is wonderful! (No motorized vehicles allowed on the island!!) Be sure to enjoy their wonderful breakfasts, and come in at least once for afternoon tea. Very nice... More

I've stayed at Cloghaun three times now, and I'm planning on going back next year! It's a beautiful B&B - every room is decorated so nicely, it's like living in a little piece of history. It's located in a great spot, and the big yard and beautiful gardens are lovely! It's very clean and kept up, and the service is... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Cloghaun B&B for a weekend on Mackinac Island. This was our third time visiting the island, but first staying at the B&B. Our expectations were set somewhat high because we really liked the place we usually stay at (another inn just down the road), but it was booked for the weekend. Reservations... More

This was our first time staying in Mackinac Island and this B&B was fantastic! I wish our weekend get-away was longer! We stayed in the Thomas room. My favorite part of this B&B was relaxing on the front porch and enjoying afternoon tea. Breakfast and afternoon tea treats were delicious! I even bought the cook-book! Everyone that stayed here was... More

We have stayed at a number of places on Mackinac Island and many have wonderful amenities, good prices and excellent locations. Cloghaun's B&B did not stand out as exceptional or a cut above the average. It is a beautiful old home, furnished with wonderful antiques. The hosts took care of things, but didn't go above and beyond to make your... More

Ron, Thank you for your review dated 9/25/14 and the opportunity to respond. I want to apologize for being off my game for your visit. Our guest's comfort and well being are very important to us and in this I failed you, and Cloghaun, and I feel badly about that. We don't take our "Welcome Home" lightly and have made... More

We've never stayed at a B&B. Marti welcomed us home when we entered. The place was clean, our room was Anita #7 - my only issue was that it was a double bed instead of a queen however, it was all they had avail at time of booking and we found that it was not as cramped as we thought... More
