My husband and I usually make reservations before leaving on a trip but this past weekend we decided to head to Michigan at the last minute for a quick weekend. About 8 p.m. on a Saturday night we drove into Ludington and drove by the Stearns Motor Inn. We almost didn't stop but drove around the block and went in.... More

This is a well maintained historical venue. They have a beautifully simple ballroom and the atmosphere including the service is warm and quiet. I have been happy to visit and stay with Stearns for working vacations the last three years. Even though the Hotel has been around so many decades, the staff are well trained to make sure every room... More

We were with a bus tour and upon seeing the outside of the hotel expect ions were low but we were very pleasantly surprised. Just walking into the lobby sent you back with the high ceilings and woodwork. We stayed on the third floor (no signs of ghosts in room 312). You take and old Otis elevator, upon getting out... This is a lovingly maintained historic hotel, and is our first choice of accommodations in downtown Ludington. Short walk to shops, restaurants, Waterfront Park, and less than 1 mile to the beach at Stearns Park. We stayed at the Stearns Motor Inn this past weekend, when there was a wedding reception in the 1st floor ballroom. The reservation clerk made... More

This is a wonderful old hotel with lots of charm and history, going back to the early 1900s. It was even a salt water spa at one time. It's been upgraded through the decades as guests' needs have changed. A vintage 1950s Otis elevator takes you to your floor, and your room door opens with a real key. The furnishings... More

We had reservations to camp in our tent at Ludington State Park. It was Labor Day weekend in Michigan and weather was bad. Arriving after dark, instead of pitching a tent, the Stearns Hotel was a life saver. With space available we took a room even though we heard the happy sounds coming from the lounge area on a Saturday... More

I made a reservation at the Stearns two weeks in advance and was told I would have a king size bed. When I got there, I was told that they upgraded me to a queen bed with a jacuzzi. I would have rather had a king bed, but I took the queen even though we would not use the jacuzzi.... More

We liyve staying at the Stearns when we are in Ludington. It is a cute, historic place that is within walking distance to everything downtown. Friendly staff, clean rooms, nice workout room, and great rates.

This is an old downtown hotel across from the courthouse. My friend and I were looking for a place that we could afford. All the other hotels were triple figures. This one was less and so we questioned it. However, what a great surprise it was. The rooms are huge -- as are the hallways. They are restoring it to... More

A fairly old classic hotel that has had some upgrades over the years. The old charm is still there and the people are very nice.Room slightly dated but very clean. Prices very reasonable. I will stay there again and again.
