When the kids were younger, we used to go over to Ludington every summer. Once we found the Blue Spruce, we didn't want to stay anywhere else; it's the perfection of the ideal of the 50's motel, with knotty pine. The owners are lovely people, welcoming and kind. The location is fine; close to the beach, the park, the ferry,... More

My husband and I stayed in room #2 this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well (very quiet) which was so nice. So close to town and the lake. This was our first visit to Ludington and we will definitely make a return visit to both!

We stayed here for a night on our way to Canada. It is close to beach and downtown, the ferry, everything we wanted to be near. The room was a kitschy 50's decor. which we loved. It was very clean and very homey. She even walked us to our room - I saw her walk another couple to their room... More

Clean room, fresh linens, comfy beds, easy check in and out, but....It has been awhile since I've stayed in a little motel like this and it's just not my style. The bathroom is too small for my liking....no space for your cosmetics or hair tools and only one plug in the bathroom that I could find. I also didn't like... More

Thank you for your review, which perceptively identifies our retro style. We really do treasure this style, yet we enhance it with premium mattresses, absorbent, large bath towels, and fluffy pillows. Our spreads are quilted heirloom style and quite expensive. We can’t really be compared to a chain motel. They tend to all look alike. We look like us, the... More

This is a very comfortable clean small motel. A very quiet setting and great place to relax. Beds are very comfortable. The motel is only a couple blocks from Lake Michigan and Stearns park which has a great beach. Coffee, bottled water, cable and a small refrig in rooms for your convenience. We try to avoid the BIG impersonal Motels... More

In fairness to the wonderful owners, its a cute, small comfortable inn. Only 7 rooms, in a residential setting. Keep in mind, that the walls are thin and unless you have respectful neighbors, you can be awake awhile. Bed was so so in comfort, but neat and tidy. Free bottled water, coffee in rooms, and a t.v. to stay in... More

Thanks for your review and compliments to me as an owner. I enjoyed talking with you about the attractions you saw around the Ludington area. I do want to address the two issues you had with your stay in my inn. One issue was the "thin walls." We did have a young child in the room next door and do... More

We spent one night in this small Motel. The bed was very comfortable, the towels were plush. The room was spotless and cozy. The service was warm and friendly. The only downside was the shower head, it had very little water pressure. The Motel is one block from Lake Michigan. We will return to the Blue Spruce Inn again.

This is a 1949 "Retro" 7 room motel in the heart of Ludington. It's cozy with knotty pine walls, outside entrance and efficient but tiny bath. The owners keep this cozy space immaculate and are ready to assist in any way. The towels are 5 star; flat screen cable tv and great matress. Convenient for beach, 2 blocks and downtown,... More

My husband and I stayed overnight in a bedroom in this B&B while we looked at possible summer rentals. The owner was gracious enough to put us up in the off-season, even though she was in the midst of major renovations. When we arrived, we found that she had prepared not only our room but also the living and dining... More
