don't stay at this hotel, it smells and its gross. Never going to stay here again, I ended up with a gross case of ring worm after my visit here. Our room was so nasty, the vertical blinds were missing a few panels and it smelled so bad. We had to drink a lot just to fall asleep. Don't ever... More

Peacefully fall asleep to the sound of water rushing from the dam. During fall watch salmon spawning while sitting on the deck watching the fishing boats leave and return. Cross the quaint bridge to get to fish town and shopping. Walk to fantastic restaurants. Falling water is so romantic. Yes, it is damp from the dam, yep the keepers are... More

I was referred to Falling Water Lodge by a friend who has been going there every year for over 30 years. While some wrote that it is dated and dirty, I found it to be perfect for my needs and liking. It was in no way dirty. Housecleaning kept it spotless during our 3 days there. The staff was great... More

We stayed at the Falling Waters Lodge the last week of July 2014. Had we been able to find another place near the marina and our boat, we would have moved. On the fifth day, I found the owner watering plants. I asked if I could tell him about all of the problems we had to deal with. He said... More

It is an old, not well maintain hotel. We paid $139.00 for one night. For that price, the hotel needs to be refurbished. We had no television that night until we accidently discover that you must turn an electrical switch at the door. Never saw that trick in any hotel before. They should inform their customers about it. The front... More

This is a cute cottage-type lodge that is in the best location. The Lodge had a private beach just steps away to the west and a great waterfall on the north side of the lodge (which I was worried would be too noisy while sleeping but it was not), and a bridge over the waterfall connecting to some very nice... I actually paid $200 to NOT stay at this dump. I checked in and immediately noticed how dingy and dated the whole place was. Upon opening the door to my room, I was immediately disgusted by the overwhelming smell of mildew. It's clear they bought some new blankets for the beds and flat-screen TVs and they stopped there. I cheked... More

Pick up this hotel and move it somewhere else and I would refuse to spend the night there. The only thing Falling Waters Lodge has going for it is the location directly in Leland's Fishtown. I've been to Leland hundreds of times in my life and always wanted to stay right on the waterfall. For $200/night this hotel needs to... More

I paid for the penthouse suite was very disappointed. Leland is the gem of northern Michigan and is one of my favorite places to visit. The view from the room was great but I feel that they could do a lot to improve their experience for people who are staying. Do yourself a favor and stay at a bed and... More

Falling Waters Lodge is wonderfully located right on the river and waterfall with Fishtown and the Leland "downtown" a very easy walk across a private bridge. Great setting, and views. BUT, the hotel is relying too much on the location, and has paid very little attention to upkeep and cleanliness. We stayed in several hotels on a 3 week driving... More
