I can't review the Falling Waters Lodge without mentioning the charm of the small town of Leland, Mi. The Lodge is bit outdated, definitely not the Holiday Inn. That said, we had a wonderful few days of hiking the Dunes, eating at the local restaurants, watching the amazing sunset from the Lodge and swimming on a nearby sandy beach. It's... More

My wife and I had always thought how nice it would be to stay in downtown Leland for the weekend liked the location of the Falling Waters Lodge. What a dump! We had a loft suite and the ceiling was brown with water stains and cob webs in some corners. The carpet was stained through out the entire suite. The... More

Let me start this off by saying you do not stay at the Falling Waters for a luxe Hilton-type experience... you stay there for the charming and historic Fishtown location, the beauty of Lake Michigan, and the serene sound of the falls. The lodge itself is old, outdated and rustic, but clean and homey. Kind of like visiting your grandparents'... More

The room was modest, but clean. The sound of the waterfall all night was mesmerizing. I only gave it a 4 because my cell phone would not work and their was no internet. I had brought a tiny bit of work with me but couldn't do anything, including checking e-mail. If I wasn't alone it's a perfect way to concentrate... More

Where do I begin??? Let me first just give the only 2 positives we found - it is located next to the waterfall and there is a new flat screen tv. That being said....... Air conditioner did not work. Informed the check in person who came to the room and said it takes about an hour for it to start... More

This was our first time at this lodge. We stayed right over the water the first night and was very nice, beds were comfy, other than some stains on the carpet, it was nice. The atmosphere of the falls and fishing village is what makes this place unique.

The area near the Falling Waters Lodge was great, a couple of really good restaurants and the beaches were gorgeous. The actual Lodge itself was pretty run down, at least our unit was. The Penthouse........very mildewy smell upon entering, the upstairs bedroom/loft had a box fan which was disgustingly dirty and so was the ceiling fan, we are talking about... More

The hotel is in a fantastic and unique location - right in the middle of all of the shops and right next to the beach. The rushing water is also a nice touch for sleeping at night. The rooms are a tad dated but they are clean and in good shape. Great value, would stay again.

Very clean rooms and unique location literally beside the dam in the center of Leland make this older property a great place for cost. Coffee maker didn't work but minor issue. Right at Lake Michigan beach, ferry to Manitou Island, charter fishing, and lots of quaint shops and good restaurants.

Motel sits right on a water falls between Lake Leelanau and Lake Michigan, and is it loud! Our non river king room was a better selection. Motel needs some updating but you can't beat the location. Worth a stay.
