I have stayed at a lot of hotels that have seen their better day, but the Best Western in Lansing should be retired from the chain. While the lobby and public areas around the reception are decent, you notice its age immediately. I was there attending a conference for two days and I think my colleagues and I were the... more

I booked this on Priceline, and really didn't expect much other than a clean place to sleep for one night, and on that promise, it delivered. There are some comical details though that I just have to comment on. When I went into the lobby to check in, I saw assorted guests milling around the lobby. Some were at the... more

Before we got to the hotel, we were very hesitant on how the conditions would be at the Best Western. But unlike most of what you'll read, the hotel was much better than anticipated. First off. People, if you want Marriott accommodations than go to the Marriot. Too many people expect to be accommodated like they are at the Marriot,... more

I was reluctant to stay after some of the reviews but I am glad we did. The room was clean and overlooked the pool. Despite being a busy weekend they were able to get my parents room adjoining ours. The tropical pool area was nice. The pool was so warm. It also was nice to have my sons cake there... more

This review is a few months old. take it with a grain of salt. Booked the hidden property site.. I figured this was the one they were offering. didnt have a problem. was told that the renovations would be ending a week after our stay so I figured it by mainly cosmetics they would be working on. I was wrong.... more

We stayed at the Best Western as part of a wedding party. Some of the previous reviews listed the property as worn out, but recent updates have brought the hotel back up-to-date. The lobby is all new with an "Up North Cottage" feel. There is a stone fireplace, and rustic wooden furniture. The atrium/pool area is so beautiful during the... more

The outside looked a little run down but not horrible so we went in. Looked kinda like an old lodge. Employees dressed like teens just hanging out but were friendly. Apparently they were just starting renovations and still weren't done although their website says they would be done by July 1 (and we were there July 20). The carpet edges... more

We stayed here for a wedding we were attending and this hotel was recommended in the invite. The lobby looks great and the staff friendly but that was about all it had to offer. We had 3 rooms scattered throughout the hotel which were all very tired looking and run down. It looks like they gave up on renovating as... more

We stayed on a Friday before a home MSU game and the place was a morgue. A prior review said they stayed on a Sunday and it was quiet. It's that way all the time. 40 rooms occupied on Friday and 60 for Saturday. (desk staff said) The place needs a major remodel. Rooms color schemes are dark. Doors in... more

We stayed on a Sunday night so it was very quiet - in fact the restaurant and lounge were closed. The rooms were OK - clean and roomy. A pet peeve of mine is bed linens that are too small for the bed and mattress pads that scrunch up. This was the case here but at least they were clean.... more
