But I didn't have the heart. Instead on complaining about every problem (there were quite a few little issues).. I'll focus on 3 and leave it at that. 1. 1st Floor room. The flooring was uneven (assuming concrete). It has what feels like 1/3 baseball size concrete coming out of the floor. The padding/carpet are very cheap and do not... More

The short review: It's fine. The long review: This was our second stay. Choices are limited in Kalkaska. We drive to Traverse City both days and it's about 45 minutes but a pleasant, easy drive. Pretty much everything about this hotel is above mediocre. There is a nice, small area behind the building with a swing and grill. The breakfast... More

We stayed at this hotel for one evening and booked a Jacuzzi suite. The room and layout of the Jacuzzi was very disappointing. The tub is situated on a wall by the bathroom with a shower curtain on each side of it.....??? very strange. Anyway, we got to our room quite late in the evening and turned on the air... More

Hotel was clean, staff friendly, lobby updated. Rooms could use updating with linens better mattresses, etc. Rooms has microwave and refrigerator and far exceed other local hotels. Priced a little high for the area. Pool was huge and area looked clean even though we didn't use it. Breakfast was on par with mid-priced motels but staff couldn't keep food re-stocked... More

I stayed recently and really enjoyed the hotel. The staff was really nice, the pool and hot tub were huge! I really thought the value was great in comparison to Traverse City prices. The hotel looks like its had some renovations, it was clean and new looking.

The grounds and lobby were really nice, but we expected a little nicer room. It was average looking and clean, but very hot, and the air conditioner was really noisy with hardly any cold air coming out. We requested a room change and were told that a lot of the air conditioners were not working properly, but were not getting... More

A fair price, but you get what you pay for. The room was clean but really " tired", time for an update in décor, beds and linens. The breakfast is really sad and only one person trying to handle it. It's still may be the best place in town though

We stayed two nights while playing tourist in the Traverse City area. Prices were better than those in TC and, while the 25-mile, half-hour drive was slightly inconvenient, the savings made up for it. The building itself reminded me of a Best Western. Maybe it was, once. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the rooms were clean. The one person... More
