This hotel is NOT what it used to be, that's for sure. With a rude, scamming, dishonest manager, I never got passed the front desk this time. Previously, the room we had was dirty, but I thought we'd give it another try this year. Bad choice on our part. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Hometown inn ... Great check-in with no reservations. Very nice room. Enjoyed it. Mgt helpful about restaurants. Their indoor pool looked inviting, but we didn't test it out. Weather was wet & getting foggy; we were happy to find this place. Indian River is off I-75 between Gaylord & Mackinaw City---both of which have your higher-priced lodgings. This place is... More

We had two rooms reserved, and asked that they be near each other. Upon arrival, one of the rooms the carpet was all wet. The couple that stayed in that room did get a new room, once they complained, but now the two rooms were not near each other. The quality of the other room was extremely poor. There was... More

Motel was a former holiday inn express. Rooms are large , clean. We did notice that the chairs were stained, so we sat on towels. Breakfast area was large enough with a standard selection, no fruit tho, employees were that we had contact with were all very nice and pleasant. Just off the highway, but very quite place to stay.

Stayed for one night with the family while en route to our location. Kids liked the pool area. Continental breakfast was lite: cereal, pastries, a couple of crock pots w random items. Staff was friendly. Hotel itself wasn't all that clean--VERY musty smell everywhere (in our room especially). Location has certainly seen better days but it met our needs for... More

This is a former HIE. It was clean. Outside doors were set up to require key card but were not functioning so security was lacking. Breakfast was heavy on carbs which is not good for a diabetic. I thought the bed was hard. Even tho it is conveniently located off I-75, I thought the room rate was too high. They... More

We stayed here at the Hometown Inn this past Memorial Day weekend 2015 so that we could ride the North Central Bike trail...they were very accommodating...friendly...helpful...room was clean...the only downer was the continental breakfast could have been a little more substantial as cold cereal was the only offering besides the daily biscuit & gravy...adequate supply of pastries, though. The hotel... More

I stayed the last two nights here and it was far better than the reviews. Clean and in good repair. The staff was helpful and courteous. I was able to extend my stay for the same low price I had booked on priceline.com Too many negative reviews here and I was a bit reticent to book. Realize that experiences are... More

I stayed here in September, 2014, and would stay again. Everything worked, the ac, tv and remote, lighting was good. My room and bathroom was super clean, and my bed was comfortable. It was quiet and peaceful. Slept good. Good location, reasonable rates, and the staff was very nice. Would recommend to my family and friends.
