My husband and I stayed at this inn in August. The building is old, yet charming. Our accommodations were comfortable. What we loved the most is it's location! It was a one minute walk to the lake. There were very big, beautiful and old homes on one side of the street and the lake on the other side. If we... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Colonial Inn, although it is over 100 years. It is beautifully maintained and we received excellent service during our stay. We have stayed at hotels that cost much more and were far less satisfied with them. It was nice having a fireplace in our room. And the hard wood floors were a much nicer... More

A nice little inn in a great location. Our room was large, clean and updated (we loved the gas fireplace). Our only complaint was the tub/shower area of the bath, which was in need of updating (new showerheads, please!) .Strong WiFi signal even in the outer building where our room was. Very convenient location to downtown Harbor Springs. Friendly staff.

We spent one night at the Colonial Inn- Room 3 of the main building. One has to assume that an historic property like this isn't going to have totally updated amenities. However, it would have been a much better place to stay if some minor maintenance had been done in our room - The large windows were so filthy (when... More

my son, his family and i stayed in two rooms for one night while waiting for our cabin to open up south of the Harbor springs area. we came up to harbor springs because we love the lake and town. the inn was the only place close that had an opening for the night we wanted. we were delighted with... Harbor Springs is an adorable resort town and this hotel has complimentary charm to go with the whole experience. Remodeled rooms with white linens, gas fireplace, flat screen tv, custom artwork and granite countertops work for me! Basic but adequate breakfast in a cute dining room included for the price. I am a coffee snob so I always go to... More

My daughter and I stayed at this inn and enjoyed it. We had a good sized room with a table and chairs outside on the shared balcony where we played cards. The fireplace didn't seem to work and we could have used it in the morning. We had a fridge and the beds were ok. The bathroom looked a little... More

This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel… but I really enjoy staying here. Have for years. Very clean, older, some would say, a little worn out but it has charm. Family owned and has a family feel. Walking distance to all Harbor Springs locations. Friendly staff. If you're tired or the chains… this is a nice alternative.

I would give this hotel a 4.5, although it is not close to what one would consider a "5 Star Hotel." First off, I got a fantastic deal on expedia. Secondly, the location was amazing. I mean AMAZING. You can walk to town in about 10 minutes (along the water no less) and biking would have been ideal, although we... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Colonial Inn since we were working in the area. From the outside, the hotel is lovely and the woman at the front desk was very nice. I know it is an old hotel, and that is what I was attracted to, but we found out that there is no elevator and in... More
