We received a gift certificate for this beautiful bed and breakfast as a wedding gift. Oour schedules were hectic and we had to wait until January to come here and stay. The staff are womderful and friendly. We are staying in the Bishop's room, it has a wonderful king size bed. I will definently stay here again, hopefully in the... More

My wife and I just got back after staying a couple nights here, and it was wonderful. From the comfortable room to the beautiful and peaceful patio/gardens it was a great stay. The only issue was the chirping birds outside our window when trying to sleep, but how can you carp about that?! Be aware that there is a shared... More

My family took over the Bishop's cottage for a family celebration in Grosse Ile and what a good move that was. Cathy is a wonderful host, the food was beautiful and the gardens lovely. The rooms were very comfortable, each one unique, hallmarked with Cathy's eclectic collectables. I would thoroughly recommend the Bishop's Cottage and would most definitely go back... More

Beautiful, charming, vintage B & B. Detroit is pretty in May even with rain and weather warnings. The owner and hostess, Cathy, could not have been nicer and caring. Truly a warm and welcoming environment.

Recently, we made a reservation and then attempted to cancel the reservation one month in advance. Even with the advance notice the proprietor would not refund the deposit. We had to force the refund through our credit card company.... More

nnkeepers provide excellent service and the "cottage" has all the 2012 amenties and charm from 1899. Grosse Ile is a wonderful town and Bishop is in the middle of it.

I am not usually a fan of B & B's, but this is the most charming, warm, wonderful place ever! The bedrooms are warm and inviting. The common room on the first floor is comfortable and interesting. The outside garden area, where you can sit and enjoy is truly the most beautiful I have seen. On Thursday evenings in the... More
