A great experience all-around. The hosts are very friendly and knowledgable of the area. The common area was comfortable, with games & movies to watch. The rooms were cozy & inviting. Our breakfast was tasty and there was plenty of food for a house full of guests. My main interest in Borcher's was the Canoe & Kayak Livery - and... More

This B and B is everything you could hope for in a well-run home, plus you have Au Sable river activities. Even though it is on a main street in a small town, it is quiet and reminiscent of days gone by. Cheri is happy and efficient and you see her touches of class, nice landscaping and well-organized staff throughout.... More

We stayed here recently almost by accident. We bid on a canoe trip voucher at a silent auction at a school fair and won and decided to make this our last stop on our way home after a brief holiday. Upon researching the place, we realized they had a B&B as well as a canoe livery, and decided to stay... More

Nice folks. Excellent breakfasts. Well-staffed. Mattress was quite firm. Had an excellent selection of DVD and books. Canoes, both aluminum and composite, were in good shape. We definitely recommend Borchers. It's more like a house than hotel or motel.

We started the family day of kayak on the Au Sable at Borchers. we have rented and used the launch in the past and it is best spot in town. Mark and Cheri make it so easy to spot cars and get all pieces in the right place. Picnic tables and clean bathrooms are welcome before day on the river.... More

We spent two wonderful days here in July 2012. We were greeted by the entire crew (dog included) with a smile and a warm welcome. We were introduced to other guests that were returning to enjoy the B&B. Our hostess/host and staff were so gracious and warm. Our room was fantastic and comfortable. The setting is tranquil in every way.... More

We stayed here for a weekend ski trip in January 2011. The owners were SO nice, considering we got there later than expected and I think the owners wife waited up for us! The breakfast was delicious, homemade quiche. Lovely rooms, lovely home - only complaint (if you can call it that) is that the shower in our room was... More

Spent a wonderful 3 days visiting Grayling on the way north to Mackinaw Island. I can't think of anything that would have improved our stay at Borchers. Everything immaculate, the most wonderful staff (Cheri and a great group of high school and college kids who work there year after year), and all so accomodating! I am gluten intolerant, and they... My wife and I stayed at the Borchers Au Sable Bed and Breakfast during a trip to Grayling, MI. We loved it. The accommodations were excellent both inside and outside the lodge. The grounds were impeccable, and the B&B rooms spotless and warmly accommodated. The owners, Mark and Cheri, were as kind and helpful as could be. The room we... More

We stayed one night in August on our way north to the Upper Peninsula. Room was lovely. Great views. Great place to relax. We also took a 14 mile canoe trip downriver. See the website for more info http://www.canoeborchers.com/. Highly recommended place to stay. Very friendly service from Mark & Cheri Hunter who run the B&B and Canoe hire for... More
