We have stayed in this hotel a number of times (nearly 10) while visiting family in the area and have been very pleased with our stays. The quality of the rooms and hotel itself are equivalent with hotels in much larger cities. The room is always very clean and the beds are quite comfortable. The room service and breakfast at... Great location/ walking distance to everything. Room was clean, pool was awesome, and the burger was the best thing we had from all the Grand Rapids food/restaurants in the area. The price is steep but it's worth it, for us the hotel was more of a getaway than anything else.

Let's start with the good, because that list will be short. At a JW hotel there is a certain expectation Marriott sets and guests should expect. JW Grand Rapids disappoints on all fronts. The staff at the valet was the one notable exception. I traveled with my family and the valet was always there to open my wife's door and... More

JW Marriott has a nice modern look inside and out. There is a parking deck where you can self park if you wish, but it does cost extra. Check in/out was convenient. The room was clean and very nicely decorated. We had a lovely view of the water and some of the downtown buildings. If you're lucky enough to stay... More

First time at this property and am impressed. Very well trained staff to please the guests. Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. Location is great. Highly recommendable even on a personal trip. Parking rates are high for a place like Grand Rapids.

The JW is quite impressive looking, BUT the river view room that we had was on the small side. Also, you can hear doors to the other rooms closing all night long. So if you are a heavy sleeper, great, otherwise you may want to bring earplugs. The Sunday brunch was delicious!

I had planned out a business trip with 3 of my friends. We booked through our conference's website, informing the hotel that there would be 4 adults in our party. Upon my arrival, we were told they had overbooked, and they had run out of rooms with 2 beds. Their suggestion...one of you can sleep in the chair, and one... More

Stayed at JW for a business trip and it was outstanding. Great service. Great rooms. The place is definitely upscale and modern! Beds were very comfy. The only negative was the breakfast. Food was great don't get me a wrong but it was $20 for the buffet and all I had was some fruit & oatmeal. They have a starbucks... More

I have had the misfortune to stay here repeatedly over the last several months because co-workers are staying here. Each time, I get a substandard room (despite the fact that I have elite status, they have always "lost" my number and need to look it up again), mediocre service and an extra charge on my bill for the gift shop....
