Janette was a wonderful hosted with a fresh made breakfast and accommodated a late check in and early check out. Easy access to pictured rocks national lake shore and only 2 hours from Mackinaw, MI. The room was clean and well kept with a mini fridge and coffee maker.

This is my second trip to Hilltop Cabins and would/do recommend Hilltop to friends looking for a place to stay. Jeanette is a fantastic hostess and will do anything to make your stay better. Nice view of the Lake Superior from the deck or take a short drive to Agate Beach and downtown, quiet and peaceful. In season cute stores... More

Hilltop cabins is definitely the place to stay if your looking for somewhere close to the trails but also right up the hill from town! We had such a great experience that we are returning again at the end of January and will be returning again after that trip as well! The owner is super friendly and attentive to your... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Hilltop Cabins. We stayed three nights in one of the motel type rooms. Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the relaxing grounds and visited with many of the other guests. Peaceful, rustic atmosphere. We liked the homemade breakfasts. Quite yummy. We had several pleasant conversations with the owner. We admire what she has accomplished.... More

This was my 3rd stay with Hilltop Cabins. My first two stays were amazing! Nothing but nice things to say about this place! This stay, was less than perfect. The wi-fi was non-existent. Stayed 3 nights and was never able to connect to it. Stayed in the "Honeymoon Suite". It was a cute little one room cabin. VERY CLEAN! It's... More

Rustic cabins well suited to the location. The private cabins looked nicer than the room we stayed in which seemed to have rather thin walls. Very basic accomodation but clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Family friendly. Breakfast was heavy on the carbs (no yogurt or fruit, but there were hard boiled eggs) but the warm blueberry breakfast bread... More

We were wandering around the upper peninsula of Michigan and stumbled on the town of Grand Marais, Michigan. The motel and cabins were indeed on a hilltop and provided a great view of Lake Superior. I wish we could have found the place earlier and stayed the whole week!

Hilltop had far more to offer than anything I've ever experienced when renting a cabin. There was cable TV on a flat screen, a heater and a fireplace, and an updated bathroom in the cabin. In the office every morning, there were homemade bread and other goodies baked fresh from scratch by the owner, along with coffee, milk, cereal, hard... More

The owner/operator was very nice and accommodating to our large group. Half our group stayed in the motel, with the other half staying in the cabins. Our cabin had everything we needed, and having the communal fire pit in the center of the cabins area was nice for a group outing. Breakfast was great - Jeanette had peach cobbler as... More
