We had a spectacular week at Jardin du Segala. The sights Richard recommended were terrific and Alex's cooking was wonderful. Conversation around the breakfast and dinner tables was lively and interesting - made us feel right at home. A wonderful place to stay if you are exploring the Lot.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this lovely Gites. Richard and Alex were great hosts; we much enjoyed Alex's cooking and wine which was all part of the package. The walking and other guides provided by Richard were excellent and the countryside wonderful. We also managed to fit in sightseeing around the medieval towns and villages of the Dordogne. Overall... Thank you Peter and Gail for your lovely review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay here at our Chambres D’Hotes (Bed & Breakfast). Your contribution to the chat around the dinner table each evening made for some lively and fun times. Not only did you manage to see so much of our beautiful countryside here in the Lot... More

Our recent holiday with Richard and Alex at Jardin du Segala exceeded all of our expectations. What a wonderful area of France Lot is to spend a week ... or more. Fantastic countryside and scenery shown off to great effect by the carefully chosen walks. Medieval villages, hilltop Chateaux, wildlife and 360 degree views what more could one want? Richard... What a wonderful week the four of us had in June. Alex and Richard made us very welcome on our arrival with a welcoming cuppa. This was repeated every day when we returned from our walks or trips out. The walk information was excellent and in detail and Richard provided advice on short cuts when the weather got hot. The... Our first visit to the lot and garonne. Glad we have chosen for the Chambre d'hotes of richard and alex. They had very nice walks prepared, with excellent views. When we came back from our walk, they were waiting with coffee and tea. After a nice shower and a rest, we could sit down for a excellent evening dinner. Very... More

Thank you Hans and Liset for your lovely review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us in this beautiful part of France. We should just point out for other people reading this review that we are located in the Lot department rather than the Lot and Garonne. It is very easy to get confused by the similar... More

Feels like home here. You don't need to be walkers to enjoy a holiday in this lovely location. Richard & Alex will advise on places to visit during your days, welcoming you back with a cuppa and genuine interest in your day. While you were out enjoying the French villages and countryside, Alex will have prepared a fantastic evening meal... More

Our second visit to this wonderful small B&B in the unspoilt Lot Region of France. Richard and Alex will really look after you, their local knowledge is paramount, if, like us, you enjoy walking in the magnificent countryside surrounding their welcoming and intimate home. Alex cooks every night except Thursdays, and her meals are all five star - thoroughly recommended. High... More

We chose to stay at the Jardin du Segala because it offered self guided walks with good value accommodation. We were not disappointed as the walks were varied and interesting with lots of advice from Richard and Alex even for our non walking friend. The food and rooms were excellent and having the meals together with the other guests was extremely... More

We had not been on a self guided walking holiday before, but Richards well written instructions guided us through the varied walks on offer. Lots of additional info was also given .Alex served up wonderful meals and eating round the table with other guests added an extra enjoyable dimension. The great reviews say it all.

We travelled from South Africa to enjoy a walking holiday in rural France. I came across Richard and Alex’s place on the internet and it seemed to be exactly what we were looking for. What we found exceeded our expectations in every way. Their house is something special and has been beautifully furnished and is well-maintained. The scenery was beautiful... More
