In our 20+ years of travel together, my wife and I both agreed that our stay in Gaylord, MI was #1. We flew in to Cherry Capital Airport (Traverse City). On our way to Gaylord, we got lost. Fearing our room would be released, we phoned the hotel to inform them that we would, more than likely, be a late... more

We used the Hampton Inn as a base for visits to Mackinac Island, St. Ignace, and to pick up our son from Interlochen Music Camp. The price ($112 double, including breakfast) was very reasonable for a basic, clean room and continental+ breakfast. The hotel has Hampton-standard duvets, pillows and mattresses, but aside from that is fairly basic (in line with... more

Pleasantly surprised how clean the facilities were and the staff all had smiles on their faces and demonstrated they had pride in their work assignments. We really felt welcome. Checked into a nonsmoking room with no stale smoke odor and the entire room was very clean and well kept. The hot breakfast in the morning was well worth the night... more

Overpriced for what you get. cons: Shower rods hanging off the walls. No in room fridges even in jacuzzi suites. Rather murky water in the pool. Kids running up and down the halls all night. Breakfast consisted of bisquets and gravy? Pool towels the size of a bathmat,. Styrofoam coffee cups. pros: Restaurants and shopping within walking distance. more

Stayed at the hotel while on a ski trip to Boyne Mtn. Great place to stay. The rooms were clean, the service was awesome, and the convenience to the Walmart and restaurants was fabulous. If in town, stop at the Mexican restaurant 1 mi. east of the hotel. It was great! Close to the slopes as well...Re-booked for next ski... more

This hotel is acceptable for a one-night stay. However, if you plan to spend more than one night in the area or much time there in the daylight, this is probably not your best choice. The hotel looked great from the outside. The lobby was in fairly good shape as well. However, the hallways and the room itself were in... more

Made a reservation well in advance on the Hilton website and was lucky to have a so-called ‘hit the road’ rate for a King room with whirlpool. On their website it stated that rooms with a refrigerator are available. With the reservation I requested for such a room. But when we arrived we were told that we have to pay... more

Gaylord has just opened a new rail trail and we wanted to cycle through the fall colours. This hotel is conveniently located just off the freeway exit next to Wallmart and Bob Evans. The staff were very friendly and the interia of the rooms is good. Bathrooms are showing their age with marks in places. The beds are ok but... more

We stayed one night in room 223. Huge room with 2 comfy beds and sofa pullout! The bathroom is also huge, and nice. The location of the hotel is great. Super Walmart is just behind it, Ruby Tuesday is kitty korner to it and Bob Evans is right beside it. The pool & hottub were nice. Very clean. It also... more

I've stayed here a few times when doing business in northern Michigan. I didn't have a reservation, so was glad when they had availability (not a sure thing in the summer). Rooms are clean, breakfast is good with some fruit and protein selection along with the usual large variety of starches. Breakfast area is very clean. Business rate was very... more
