Stopped here to enquire about restaurant and facilities for an upcoming wedding. The staff member could not have been more rude to us. Her dialog was curt, disinterested and completely inappropriate for a person in the service industry. Every question I had was met with"you can find that answer on our website". "Quaint"doesn't go far for us unless it is... More

Chimney Corners Resort is 3rd generation family run establishment. It is steeped with history and character. The owners have maintained the "original" ambiance so you must not expect modern day conveniences. Our room was comfortable without TV, radio, clock, hairdryer and smoke detectors. We did have to hang a towel over the door window for privacy/no curtain. The room was... More

We had an absolutely splendid stay here. Our cottage, which is built right into a bluff overlooking Crystal Lake, was like a cute little hobbit house -- nicely appointed, gas fireplace, warm and cozy on chilly autumn days. Since it was the off season we didn't get to experience the resort's famous Friday night dinner or midweek barbecue, but we... More

Don't go to Chimney Corners expecting frills and modern luxury. Go for an old fashioned, family run rustically charming, casual, and peace-filled vacation of sun, cook outs, great food, caring staff, clean comfort in a historically and beautiful setting overlooking Crystal Lake and a hop, skip and jump from Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes. No fancy dress required (although... More

We made reservations at Chimney Corners only 3 weeks prior to our trip, due to uncertantity in our plans. We figured with that late of a reservation in June we should be happy with whatever we got. As it turned out, we were thrilled with our 3 night stay. We stayed in a Lakeview Apartment which is just across the... More

We appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts. The food credit can be confusing, but hopefully, we were able to explain it to your satisfaction. We're glad you were able to stay with us and look forward to your future visits. Maybe a cottage on the bluff next time?? Thank you again for choosing Chimney Corners! More

We vacation in Traverse City every summer. A few years ago, while reading an article in a local magazine, we learned about a family run resort offering weekly family-style upscale faire. Walking up to the dining room through the resort is a real treat. The lodge building is historic and welcoming. The owners were kind and the food phenomenal. We... More

We have vacationed at Chimney Corners yearly for over 20 years. We always go for 2 weeks. We have been there in the late spring and mid-fall. We LOVE the place. There are many things to see and do in the area, but we spend most of our time at Chimney Corners. There are also many enjoyable restaurants in the... More

Stayed in Lodge. Wonderful place for families, many planned activities for children. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast - made to order- with spectacular lake views. Highly recommend ! We plan to return again next summer.

Over Memorial Day weekend, we had a cute, super clean room with character-rich old furniture. Nicely decorated with antiques. View out the front window over Crystal Lake. Friendly, helpful staff. Small drawback: several rooms have to share a bathroom. Pre-season, they did not offer breakfast but we found a nice place at the Sugar Moon Cafe, Beulah.

After searching the internet for small places near the Sand Dunes, I decided on this one. My tow kids (14 and 18) and I arrived early evening on May 24. I had already paid and had to room number, so we just went in. We were in the Lodge. As soon as you walked in you smelled old wood and... More
