The Econo Lodge in Escanaba is a clean, good-value motel located directly on US2 immediately South of the U.P. State Fairgrounds. The hotel was fairly clean, at least as clean as one would expect for a Econo Lodge. This was a suprise. I was alittle leary in that I normally avoid Econo Lodges but was pleasently pleased with this one. The checkin was smooth as was the checkout. We stayed one night and found our room very clean and comfortable, they turned the a/c on ahead of time so the room was nice and cool prior to our arrival which was great since it was 90 degrees out. They had a nice continental breakfast area with bagels, donuts and a waffle maker, juices and coffee (all the time).... more
