Great little place. Very clean. It is certainly dated but a nice little place with a great location in town at a good price. They are pet friendly. It's an easy and very pleasant walk to the beautiful lake front park and light house.

Clean, comfy, basic mom/pop type place, excellent value (under $70 total for 2 people) especially with free casino package for very nice Island Resort & Casino located about 10 miles west. Good location for daytrips around area, Escanaba is a nice town. We stayed during July 2013,and will definitely stay again when we are back in the area!

Usually don't make a stop on my way to my hometown, but circumstances called for it this time. I asked a long time friend for a recommendation (she lives in Escanaba) & was told about the Hiawatha. It may need some updating but it was clean, bed was comfy, staff was very friendly and I got a great night's sleep. I... More

I had to catch a 6:30 AM flight out of Esky on a winter morning. It was just me and I stayed there simply because I didn't want to drive to Esky that morning. I needed a clean room to spend a few hours the night before. Sure, it is an older place and does not have fancy décor, but... More

We have been driving past this place for more than 20 years, so we found a discount for the hotel, and one weekend, when in town, we tried it out. -The rooms were sadly outdated, and in need of remodeling. -Our room had a stale odor in it, but we think it was from the old, old carpeting. -The bed... My first stay in Escanaba. The hotel was an older property. The room was clean, but there was a definite odor of some kind of air fresher or something that didn't go away after 6 hours of running the air conditioner unit to bring in fresh air. Everything was very well used. The box spring looked threadbare, like it was... More

This is your basic two bed motel room. The owner/operator had a small video library with VCR's for rent in the lobby and also a table full of books. He seemed to really care about the upkeep and appearance of the place. He had nice benches, tables and ashtrays outside for the smokers. Our room was a "basic" but it... More

What a pleasant stay! This is a privately-owned motel that is definitely worth visiting. We stayed in their honeymoon suite which was beautiful. Huge, deluxe spa, spotlessly clean room. Good coffee & donut in the morning, though not really continental breakfast. Good location. Overall outstanding value, & great stay! We'll be back!
