Carol and Tom are the best hosts you can think of and they live with their dog, sheeps, hens, ducks and frogs in a lovely furnished house in the Northern Wilderness (known as UP). They like to meet other people, so they often sit with the guests in the evening and chat. They are lovely and caring hosts, also and... More

Usually the reviews on Tripadvisor are accurate. Once in awhile one might get reviews from a particular hotel/resort that run the gamut from great to awful so we read those reviews especially carefully and chalk them up to to differences in expectations, or unusual variances of service. When one sees reviews of a lodging facility that has nothing BUT five... More

Our stay at Sandtown Farmhouse B&B was beyond our expectations. We stayed there because we thought the location was convenient for visiting the Eben Ice caves (an hour and a half away) but we ended up finding a new reason to visit the UP. Tom and Carol are wonderful hosts, providing comfortable lodging, delicious breakfasts, and excellent conversation. They went... More

Tom and Caroll run a beautiful Bed & Breakfast in a location ideal for day trips to Tahquamenon Falls, Pictured Rocks, Hiawatha National Forest, Eben Ice Caves, and more. It was not only the most affordable option we found, it was also the cleanest and nicest looking hotel in the area. We had high hopes and we were not disappointed... More

Tom and Caroll Harper really go out of their way and beyond the call of duty to make your stay the best that it can possibly be. Breakfast always includes real home-made food and in season it also includes home-grown food. One morning on this past stay we had French toast with bread Caroll made with syrup from a neighbor's... We are loving our stay at Sandtown Farmhouse! Tom and Caroll Harper are excellent hosts and have thought of everything! Traveling with our two older teenagers, the upstairs rooms have been perfect for our family! A delicious breakfast each morning is the perfect way to end a great night's sleep. Will definitely be back!

We have stayed at Sandtown Farmhouse B&B many times and the experience is always great. This time we took 4 of our grandchildren. They also had a great time petting the sheep, feeding the ducks and chickens and helping gather eggs from under the chickens. It was cool outside, so the wood stove in the kitchen brought welcome warmth. We... More

Truly a perfect stay. We could not have been more happy with the charming farmhouse and excellent hosts. Our room was immaculate, spacious, and the perfect blend of quaint and contemporary. Carol is a delightful hostess (we were sorry we did not get to meet Tom). Almost everything at breakfast was "fresh from the farm" and absolutely delicious. Furthermore, Carol... More

We first stayed at Sandtown Farmhouse B&B about 10 yrs ago. We have made almost yearly visits there since in almost every season of the year. Tom & Carol treat their guests like family. We love the quiet peaceful setting and it's central location for sightseeing in the UP. If you like hummingbirds they usually have many during the summer,... More

There is no downside. Period. Tom and Caroll think of everything. An old farmhouse, completely remodeled, with Wifi, a very comfortable bed and wonderful hosts. You will have to search for any dust or dirt here, and you still won't find any. Just make the call and make a reservation. The breakfast alone is worth the trip! If a TV... More
