I live close to here so it did not seem like such a vacation when we decided to go for a post-holiday getaway but it seemed like we couldn't be further from home. We stayed in one of the Cricket Cottages and I highly recommend this option. The rooms in the main house, while beautiful, are kind of over the... More

What a beautiful property/ Very quaint and private. I enjoyed the privacy and didn't stay in the main house..Amenities were impeccable. Some of the staff seemed preoccupied with their own drama or issues. Some of the staff was very cordial. Wish they had room service. Other than that, I will stay again. Not cheap - but it's for the experience.

The English Inn is not far from major cities but yet feels so far away. The Inn and land is very picturesque. Beautiful river by their gardens. Food and ambiance very nice. Worth taking the trip here for lunch, dinner, weddings, etc. we've had their fish and chips for lunch and was very good. However, the pot pie was not... More

Stayed here for one night en route from Niagara to Chicago. We had booked ivy cottage in the grounds which was very spacious with small kitchen, 2 sitting areas, bedroom and large bathroom. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Lovely quiet setting. Enjoyed walking down to the river. Had a delicious meal in the evening: prime rib with... More

This was my second visit to The English Inn. I organized a conference for clients here. The meeting facilities are superb. Medovue Hall is very impressive. My sleeping room was The Windsor. It was the original Master Bedroom of the home. Very charming. Some of the staff are very young, and it appears this is their first real job, so... More

We are in the midst of renovating a house and needed a night away from it all, comfortable beds and no mess. Upon driving in to the entrance it seemed we found our oasis. The house is beautiful, very well maintained and welcoming. We got our rooms and were so happy! We stayed in the Windsor room and our daughter... More

We were at Michigan State for parents orientation and wanted to stay overnight somewhere relatively close to East Lansing. We found the English Inn on Trip Advisor. It is about 20 minutes from East Lansing, not far off of I-96. We chose to stay in the Croquet Cottages. The cottages are buildings separate from the main inn; each building has... More

We stayed in the "Bath" room in July, a quirky room where you enter into a large bathroom with dining table in the centre with a chandelier. The bedroom around the corner was a little small with some blinds for privacy but not blocking the light. There is no blind in the toilet for privacy. Water pressure was non existent... More

We stayed in the Ivy Cottage which would have been delightful had there not been a million mosquito's (which the Inn cannot control of course). We could not walk anywhere without being attacked by bugs - but what we could view was pretty spectacular as far as the grounds are concerned. The cottage was pretty old (kind of smelled like...
