A quaint little old fashioned motel about 30 minutes west of Flint. If you are a large person it might not be for you. Very clean and quiet and a great rate. Was a perfect place for a one night stay before heading to the airport. A short drive to downtown where they have some nice restaurants.

A small, beautifully kept and extremely reasonable motel just off I-69. We'd intended to stay in Flint, but saw no lodging notices near its several exits. Our room was quite small, but clean and well-equipped, including refrigerator and wi-fi. The grounds were blooming with flowers, adding to overall pleasantness. A family-owned small business run by a friendly couple, perfect for... More

On a recent trip to visit my son-in-laws family in Michigan, he found this delightful reminder of the1950's era. What a surprise awaited us--clean,quiet,well kept and wonderful people operate this business. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds, microwave and refrig, an ample sized bathroom. our neighbors were mostly middle aged who did not care that there was no... More

Clean room, great staff, nothing fancy but great for a good night's sleep. A mom and pop place and they take good care of the place and the people that stay there. I would recommend this over the motel just off I69 and this one is only about 1 mile down the road!

We wanted to stay between Lansing and Flint as we had business in both. There are not many options out there but we came across this little place on TA and decided to give it a try. It is a true Mom and Pop place that you rarely see any more. This motel sets in more of a residential area,... More

I was coming in late from the Durand Train Station & decided against traveling home late at night. I made reservations ahead of time & the owners knew it would be late. No problem. Very easy to find from the station and a short distance to McDonalds. Room was clean and very homey. When I Ieft in the morning, I... More

After a less than satisfying one night stay at a franchise facility down the road, we transferred to the Sunset Motel. With family recently moved to the area, we will keep this one on our go-to list. A true mom 'n pop motel, with on-premises owners, flower gardens at the entrance, easy access room entry, and homey decor in very... More

The flower garden near the office presented a delightful first impression and set the tone for the friendly welcome. Rates were surprisingly economical -- I came to know the true value after seeing the room! The tasteful decor comfort, and cleanliness were exceptional. I will definitely consider Sunset Motel on my next visit to this area!
