Nice resort, the whole area is great the nightlife in the bar is excellent. The staff at the front desk is a little testy at times, but the rest of the staff is very good. I would recommend a week day stay

My partner and I are from Kalamazoo, MI, approximately 1 hour away from Saugatuck/Douglas. We enjoy fraternizing with like people on occasion. Yes the drinks are expensive and there is a hefty cover at times, but where else can you have this level of fun without paying for it. The rooms are always clean, and if not, they are made... More

I stay here year around and been to many gay resorts around the world. This facility by far exceeds other gay resorts and even includes the surrounding nature. By far this gay resort is better and cleaner when you compare it to other gay resorts. Cover was included in our stay and ice machines are available in the summer. I... More

My partner and I stayed here recently and were impressed by the level of service and friendliness of the staff. Some of the rooms are all but "average" but it is all clean and very acceptable. They have a a great pool, outside stockade area, inside bar and dance floor.

I stayed two nights at the Dunes in a 2 Bedroom Cabin. The accommodations are shabby -- poor quality furnishings and run-down. They still have CRT televisions. The towels were awful!! There are a lot of closeted creeps around -- one that punched me in the eye for taking a photograph in public. The staff were kind enough to rush... More

I spent three nights at the Dunes. I stayed in the original motel part of the property, in a large King room. The room was motel like, but clean, comfortable, and attractive. There are a number of options on the property. I was happy with my room. The pool is really nice and very clean. I was traveling alone, but made... More

Upon arrival, the first weekend of August, we were greeted friendly by the front desk. We had stayed here ten years and, there have been improvements. We stayed in Wiley B, a short three minute walk through the woods. This area is slightly off property with three units, ours was the big one in the middle. We barely knew others... More

The Dunes, ....I have come to the Dunes ever since Fall 2001 with my American friends from Chicago except 2 years ago, that was in 2012. We always spend the weekend the Douglass Halloween parade takes place. At the very start we were only the three of us but over the years the group grew larger and more friends came... More

This is a well-maintained venue. The staff is polite, and on busy summer weekends, the resort is a very busy place. There are some downsides, however. Drinks are very expensive, and in my experience, "light" in content. Cover charge on July 5 was $20.00 which caused my partner and me to go away. It seems gay clubs really like to... More

Thanks for the feedback. Hotel guests at the Dunes never pay a cover charge, it's included in the room rent. We also sell 250 yearly memberships that allow customers to avoid cover charge year round. A typical summer weekend night (Friday & Saturday) the cover charge is between $5 and $10. There is never a cover at the pool/pool bar.... More

Stayed here as two couples in one of the houses on the property. First of all they don't believe in shoveling snow walking from the front desk to the house in the back was very dangerous. On the path the there was so much dog poop you couldn't even walk the dangerous snowy path. Just because you are a gay... More
