My business partner and I stayed at The Atheneum Suite Hotel for a four day work conference. It is conveniently located in downtown Detroit a few blocks from the GM Headquarters/Renaissance Center and connected to the International Conference Center. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff is quiet and discreet. The suites are spacious, well... More

My stay at the Atheneum was amazing. My room was beautiful, large, and very clean. But what made my stay so wonderful was the staff. Everyone from the front desk associates, valet, bell hops, door men, and event planning group and servers were so kind and accommodating. This crew gave me a whole new perspective on Detroit. I highly recommend... More

I stayed at the Atheneum for a business event because we were given a certain rate for the event. I have no complaints. Valet was very friendly and helpful, rooms were really neat-- the bed is on a different level than the sitting area and the bathroom had a beautiful glass block wall. I was told by a colleague that... More

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The service was excellent. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. This is our second stay and will definitely return again on our next trip.

I would recommend this hotel and for sure book another stay. We stayed on a Friday night for a Tiger’s Game and it’s truly the perfect location in walking distance to everything. There is a parking garage across the street where you can park yourself for $21 or valet park for $30 I believe. The hotel rooms are very nice... More

I read the reviews for this hotel and they were all over the place. Noisy, sometimey service, etc. I spent a few nights there recently and it was great. This is an all suite hotel. Step down bedroom, 2 flat screens, huge tub in bathroom, and attentive service. You are made to feel comfortable the minute you arrive. This appears... More

The style of this place is opulent almost to the point of crassness, but it wins me over. In many many ways the place is tastefully done, but it has a touch of Vegas if you know what I mean. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I stayed on the 8th floor. My only complaint is that the building air... More

The dust on the plastic flowers in the lobby welcomes you to the filthy stained carpets and the never ending noise. This hotel might have large rooms but large does not mean grand. We had filthy, sweat soaked cheap foam pillows along with old, tiny towels from what looked to be the 1990's. The bathroom light fixture is pre 1990... More

Recently stayed at The Atheneum for two days due to a family wedding. Everything about this establishment is first-class - from check-in to the departure. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. In particular: The room were big and very, very comfortable and, importantly, clean. Moreover, the bedding and linen were great. Free WiFi and $10 a day valet, in-out parking,... More

My sister and I stayed here for a weekend and would definitely return. The staff were personable and efficient from the moment we arrived. The room was clean and spacious with a separate sitting area and bedroom, and a huge bathroom. Only slightly strange thing was the glass cube wall in the bathroom; Very 80's and could be awkward depending... More
