The location of the hotel is ok, but there really isn't much around it in terms of sights or restaurants. The room was clean enough, but the bed only had a bed spread and a plain sheet. For those to throw off the bed spread and use a blanket and a sheet, this set up was a bit odd. The... More

The rooms are ok- not dirty but also not extremly clean. Staff is friendly, wifi works good and bed is comfortable. Bathroom could be cleaner. The location is horrible apart from a CVS and dirty looking restaurants there is nothing else. You need to take a cab to get to downtown. It costs aprox. $8-$12 one way ( depending on... More

The St. Regis is old and yes, there is more restoration that needs to be done but it is historically correct and more than pleasantly comfortable. If you are scared of being at the heart of a big city, I guess you might get the "willies" but the several times I have been at the St. Regis, absolutely nothing is... More

We could not find a hotel to stay in while we were in Detroit for the Jimmy Buffett concert at Tiger Stadium. At the last minute St. Regis had a cancellation and we decided to give it a try. The staff was very congenial and helpful and the room was very clean and well maintained. We would stay there again... More

We booked our room prior to reading the reviews. I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews. After our stay, I realized that the St. Regis has serious issues with consistency. We checked in to our 1st room (yes, we requested to be moved) and the bed was half made up, one of the two pillows on... More

I booked five nights at the St. Regis before reading some of the negative reviews. Naturally, it made me wonder if I should rethink my plan to stay there. But you know something? It turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant place -- to the point where it sounds as if the negative reviewers were staying in a completely different... More

I stayed here for business and I enjoyed the stay. Convenient location for my meetings but I wouldn't stay here for visiting Detroit as it is far from everything. There are few dining options around and the neighborhood at night is not inviting. Room was ok. Complimentary breakfast in the morning is average. Staff is nice and helpful.

I valet parked my car at a rate of $14.00 per day. I went to retrieve my car on the second day of my stay only to find that the back passenger side had been scratched. I was totally blown off by management. The valet who parked my car that afternoon was called and had no recollection. The Manager Mr.... More

This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we have ever experienced. The location is absolutely awful, not in "downtown" Detroit at all. There are dangerous neighborhoods between the downtown Detroit area this hotel. We were advised by Detroit Police not to use the bus to get downtown because it is not safe to do so. We were aware... First off, the staff are the nicest and most personable and professional group you would want to meet. Now - the hotel reported it has been renovated - our room ceiling had water damage that was painted over. The curtains in the room didn't close and we faced the front of the hotel. Wonderful view until nighttime - try sleeping... More
