Our group had a great time staying at the Corktown Inn. We were in town for an extended conference. The front desk and housekeeping staff were especially helpful in accommodating the unique needs of our group (such as storing bicycles for cyclists) and the price was just right! Great location too, to interact with a cross-section of real Detroiters. Thank... More

We were going to be in Detroit on a night when the Tigers were at home and there were 2 concerts occurring. Every hotel we had stayed at previously was booked; after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor (thanks to everyone by the way), we decided to give The Corktown Hotel a try & reserved a remodeled room. The rooms are... More

There's really nothing too wrong with this place. It smells a little smelly in the hallways because I assume that you used to be able to smoke inside, doesn't bother me but it might if you're sensitive to that sort of stuff. Walking distance to downtown, even closer to a bunch of great things to do on Michigan Ave. Make... More

We love that you found the Corktown hotel to be a great value while you were enjoying the downtown area, entertainment hotspots on Michigan Avenue, and an assortment of restaurants and bars. We apologize that you noticed residual smoke smell in the... More

Visited Detroit for the weekend and had a great stay at The Corktown Hotel. The location is excellent for walking into town or grabbing some drinks/food at some delicious spots along Michigan Ave. Obviously this isn't the Ritz, but if you want a cheap, comfortable stay in a safe neighbourhood that's close (walking) distance to downtown, Comerica Park, and great... We booked a room here the day of a Tigers game (a Sunday). I read a lot of the reviews and was hesitant but we took a chance and were, like others, pleasantly surprised. I thought that the renovated rooms would be a better bet and I was right. I paid $120 total (instead of $68 for a regular room)... More

We stayed in the newly remodeled room last weekend and we loved it! I am looking forward to the rest of the hotel being renovated so all the rooms and exterior will be just as nice. Never once did I feel unsafe while staying there. The location is great. You are just outside all of the hussle and bussle but... More

We are working hard to renovate Corktown Hotel and make it even better for our guests, and we always... More

I paid extra for a newly remodeled. The VERY small room was unfinished: Paint splattered on walls...(SEE photos), no phone or clock, no decoration. A/C was blasting when I entered in an attempt to rid the room of paint smell. Although the smell was gone, the lingering fumes kept me awake ALL night. When checking out the desk person said... Stopped in Detroit to see a baseball game on our way to Chicago. Booked hotel online - low price gave us low expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, hotel is old, but it was friendly. Room was basic, but tidy. Bathroom was in good condition. No bugs seen. Kind of felt like a hostel. Liked the gated parking and... More
