We recently booked a room at this hotel through Expedia 6 weeks prior to our planned trip to Detroit. The confirmation email said 'Your reservation is booked. No need to call us to reconfirm this reservation.' This past week, just 10 days prior to our trip we called the hotel to ask some questions and discovered that we did not... More

This is exactly the kind of place one wants to succeed: family-owned, great location near downtown, safe, and most of all, employing the most helpful and friendly staff imaginable. It is true that having to be buzzed in and finding a receptionist behind Plexiglass is a tad off-putting, but this is Detroit on its way back up from scraping bottom.... More

This is the best choice in a budget hotel Downtown. They have gated, secure parking, there are restaurants nearby, you can walk to downtown. We got a renovated room and it was excellent. Some rooms are still being renovated and the elevators are very old, but we felt very safe and comfortable here as a couple. We used Uber to... More

CanadaMoi, Hearing the word, “best” makes our day! We’re glad our updates caught your eye and we thank you for the kind words. We agree our location is a highlight, just steps away from downtown and great restaurants. We’re glad Uber steered you our way, and now that you’ve found us hope you’ll be back soon! More

I get what they're trying to do here, but they have a ways to go. When my husband (who is game for staying ANYWHERE) didn't want to stay upon pulling up that's all I needed to know. You have to be buzzed in at front area, registration person is behind bullet proof glass and in order to get back to... More

My friends & I stayed over the weekend for a concert back in February. Everyone was very nice & friendly, especially the maintenance man, whom we consistently saw in the hall ways & coming in and out of rooms. If you had any problems what so ever all you had to do was let them know and they took care... More

Was in town for the Garth Brooks show and decided to stay here. It was nice to see that you have plans to renovate. Your property definitely needs it. We had a good stay though. The staff was very nice and helpful. I don't think the maintenance guy left the whole time we were there. Nice guy! I come to... More

this place is gross.I will never stay here again.I will gladly pay the extra money for a Hotel a little further away from Joe Louis Arena. Looked like dried spit in the sink. Toilet flushed sometimes. Some kind of gross orange stuff on the floor and chair. Looks like Housekeeping just makes the bed and leaves. The night stands have... More

Basically you get what you pay for. Cheap room rates, the rooms were clean, staff was froendly, shower was hot can't say I had any complaints. you cant expect to pay 68$ a night and get a 5 star hotel .but if you just need a place to sleep and shower its not a bad place! cab service was fast too!

We stayed just one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. This hotel is under new management and undergoing renovations. Our room was a bit outdated, but clean. First in English: I did not stay in The Corktown Hotel yet. I´m going on May of 2015.
