1st off this place is a bit beat down but the rooms are clean and quiet and the staff was pleasant. 2" thick bulletproof glass at the reception desk may be a sign of old times because the Corktown area is actually being reborn and is an up and coming area. 1 elevator but it was always quick, free parking... I'll put it straight out there: this isn't the kind of hotel that everyone will enjoy staying at, but you know what? It perfectly sums up the Detroit experience, and for that reason, I loved the Corktown Inn. Yes, the front desk is protected by bulletproof glass. Yes, it's in a seedy area of town. Yes, the infused stench of... More

I was treated very well during my stay. Beatrice was very helpful and kind and the room was clean. Wifi worked great and the jaccuzi was good. I will stay there again on my next trip to Detroit. Will reccomend it to others who want a resonable place to stay at a good price.

I was looking for a place as cheap as possible and I paid $62 for a room that was clean, a large bath and a comfy bed. The wifi was also good. But: the area is absolutely terrible and unsafe, I only got out to go to a close bk and than run back, the structure is not exactly pretty... More

A friend and I stayed here for 3 nights from June 20-23rd. While we had some of the issues stated in other posts the ones we had were on the low issue side. For 2 caucasian males checking in at 1am it was rather uneventful. Girl at the front desk while looking somewhat sketchy turned out to be very friendly... More

After reading other reviews I had fairly low expectations but booked a room anyway because I was traveling alone and like staying in dive hotels. Any time a hotel clerk is behind bullet proof glass you know youre probably not in the best of areas. But alas it turned out not to be nearly as exciting as i thought it... More

I was very impressed at my room. It was very nice, clean and quiet. I had no complaints. I can say i was a little shocked as i walked in the lobby and immediatly ran into a hooker, I did not judge the hotel because there will be nasty females everywhere. I walked into my room and was very happy.... More

I took pictures with my camera but I'm using my phone right now so I can't upload them. The carpets had not been vacuumed, there was pee and hair all over the toilet and the toilet base, the floors had dirt on them, the walls had dirt on them, the sink had a couple little hairs in it, the mirror...
