We stayed here 2 nights while keeping an appointment at Wayne State Medical Center. The property is an older one that looks like Holiday Inn rebranded it. The property is a little tired and worn looking in the public areas. The rooms are very nice and clean. We had two rooms with my elderly in-laws in a handicapped room. Their... More

After a 45 minute wait to check in due to unorganized wait staff (and probably rookie travelers), we got checked in. The price for the room was acceptable as the room was listed as a suite with a wet bar. To my dismay the "wet bar" was nothing more than a small kitchen sink and cupboards (that had nothing in... Stood in line for an hour and a half at check in (2:50 pm to 4:15 pm). Line for check-in was out the door and up the sidewalk. People were sitting in the lobby waiting for rooms. After an hour they began telling people some rooms were ready but no linens due to a dryer breaking down. Could allow people... More

Stayed 1 night on a Sunday to see Passenger at the Fillmore. He is amazing, brilliant, but that's another story. Pulled up around 6pm to see a line of people stretching outside waiting to be checked in. We quickly found out there was also a damn One Direction concert in town the same night....lots of little girls and parents. Valet... More

Overall, a good deal of our stay was decent. We had a problem with our 5th floor room; for some reason, we were assigned a handicapped room with awkward shower attachment that sprayed water all over. With a toilet that ran nonstop (we had reported the problem earlier, but apparently it couldn't be fixed) and lack of hot water, staff... More

This was quite a pleasant Express. The check-in lady was very friendly and did her best to upgrade us. The room was a reasonably large size and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was a standard Express breakfast, which is okay for a couple of mornings. The valet parking worked really well and we were never kept waiting for our car. The... More

Stayed here on July 4th for a Tigers Game. Valet parking was included in the AAA rate so that was wonderful. Hotel is clean and wifi is also included. Easy walk to Comerica. Breakfast had a good selection. Would definitely stay here for any event in Detroit.

This HIE is 17 stories and old, though renovated, unlike most HIE. The room was freezing when we enterd IN JULY. When we turned on the heat it spewed dust & dirt all over my husband. The toilet did a partial refill every 20 minutes. The bathroom light turned off by itself about 4-6 times before it stayed on. That's... More

Nephew and friends were down for Yu-gi-oh (sp?) tournament. This hotel was soooo convenient, not only for the players, but his nephew's mom and I were able to easily access the people-mover, the Cobo Centre, the Renaissance Centre, ..... I could go on. And not to forget the staff - the desk staff were friendly and helpful, the valets were... More
