The Inn on Ferry Street in the Wayne State area of Midtown Detroit is a hidden gem of Victorian architecture and gracious comfort. Four turn-of-the-19th-century homes have been converted into a well-appointed bed and breakfast style boutique hotel. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. Location is great for the arts and business activities throughout the Detroit area.

I took my three daughters to see Wicked & experience some other attractions in Detroit. The Inn on Ferry Street offered unique and very special accommodations for our trip. We stayed in the Smith Carriage House which offers two queen bedrooms, a lovely sitting room, and a large bathroom. It is on the second floor, so steps are unavoidable but... More

We recently stayed at the Inn while taking in an Andrea Bocelli concert in Detroit. It was a busy weekend in Detroit with a football game the same night. I chose the Inn because of the reviews but also because they offered free shuttle service to the event and elsewhere in Detroit (within 5 miles). They Inn, as described, consists... More

My wife and I had a event at the DIA and had dinner at the Whitney. The Inn shuttled us to the DIA, picked us up and took us to the restaurant and collected us at the end on the night. We stayed in one of the Queen rooms which was clean and roomy. Breakfast the next morning was very... More

I liked The Inn on Ferry Street. It's very close to the Detroit Institute of Arts. Breakfast was excellent. The only drawback is that the walls between rooms can be very thin, since the buildings are old converted mansions. It helps to tell your neighbors that you can hear every word they say. (!)

We had a lovely, spacious and beautifully decorated room, a living room with a fireplace, and a veranda. The staff was friendly, helpful and so accommodating with coffee, food and shuttle service. Even took my friend to the ER at midnight and returned us safely and with very kind words at 2:00 am. The Inn and it's 6 gorgeous homes,... More

The Inn is this spectacular array of 6 historic homes right next door to the DIA. The rooms are spacious and clean and the complimentary chocolate chip cookies left on your bed side table are just what you need for a midnight snack. I can not say enough good things about all the staff at the Inn. Not only did... More

The Inn was just the best base for our 3 night stay in Detroit, first time in this city with so many preconceptions that are just so misleading. The staff at the Inn made the trip so alive, we were guided to everything. The museums are on your doorstep and the magnificent DIA just around the block - you must... More

Rooms are beautiful. Clean. Shuttle service not reliable. Never came back to pick me up. Detroit not the safest city. Had approved early arrival . 130pm time slot. Did not get my room until 4p. Not happy.

My husband and I were in town for the Red Wings' home opener. We were excited to return to the Inn on Ferry since our first stay a few years back was a very positive, memorable experience. Our recent stay did not disappoint. Everything was spectacular aside from the dismal experience at check-in (at around midnight after a long, miserable... More
